1. The formation I use has 5 defenders, and I have to actually alter the starting roster to ensure people are playing the right positions. Is there a way to save this in addition to the formation?

I hate moving the squad around after changing the default formation to my custom one. Makes using the formations more trouble than their worth.

No, you can't save your formations and squads for online use. Hopefully they allow it in 2013.
