MLB 12 The Show Title update 1.06 Schedule Issue

Schedule changes were made in the latest patch to ensure the schedule
matched the MLB 2012 season schedule as best as possible. Unfortunately, the schedule changes in update 1.06 may cause freezing issues for users in Franchise, RTTS, and Season modes, not allowing you to progress in your season

This may lead to the game hanging at a particular point, after loading the file. Another consequence is that for a few teams, the season
will finish with only 161 games completed.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS DOES NOT AFFECT SEASONS CREATED AFTER THE PATCH
AND MOST USERS WILL NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE.

This occurs with a select set of teams and days in the schedule. At this point, we agree with the thorough explanation from "Bobhead," but
we are verifying ourselves (big thanks to Bobhead and bkrich). Please read his information below and we will reply with details as soon as it becomes available.

* If you have not started a Franchise, RTTS, or Season then disregard this
message, as you will not encounter these issues.
* If you have a save file that is past May 1st then you should also not
encounter these issues.
* These issues affect users who started franchises, RTTS's, or seasons
BEFORE downloading the patch, and users who have used the Cross Platform
Saves feature on the PlayStation VITA.
* If you are starting a new mode after downloading the patch, you should
not load a pre-patch existing save file.

Note, we are currently investigating season schedule issues reported with
cross platform saves. For now, you may want to avoid transferring save
files in the month of April (each season).

For those experiencing this problem, please read the instructions below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conditions
You are at risk for the issue if you meet all three of the following
conditions:
- You already started the Franchise, Season mode, or Road to the Show mode
BEFORE downloading the patch; OR you have played and saved your file from
your Playstation Vita
- Have started the regular season in the game file (ie: you're done with
Spring Training)
- Your team is Oakland, Seattle, Kansas City, or Miami, or you have
completed 1 or more games against one of these teams.
- You are loading pre-patch saves in the month of April, after patching.
--------------------
The following only works for a franchise, RTTS, or Season mode file that
was last saved BEFORE downloading the patch. If you have saved or autosaved
your game since downloading the patch, the workaround is unlikely to work
for you.
1. Quit The Show and go to the XMB menu in your PS3.
2. Go to the "Game" sub-menu (the one you go to to start The Show), and
scroll up to the "Game Data Utility" folder
3. Find the file named "MLB 12 The Show Additional Content"
4. Press Triangle and Delete the file
5. Start The Show, and load up any RTTS, franchise, or Season mode file you
wish to keep. You will be prompted regularly to download the patch
throughout the remaining steps. Do NOT download the patch. For convenience,
disconnect your PS3 from the internet.
6. Complete ALL the games in April, either by playing them, simming them,
whatever. This can be done at any pace, and you can save your game at any
time.
7. Use the "Sim to next day" feature to ensure that "today" is actually May
1st. It's not enough to just finish the last game on April 30th, you have
to actually advance into the month of May.
8. Save your game.
9. Download the patch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

If your game file met the conditions at the top of the page, then until
further notice, you should not:

- View the schedule for the month of April, for one of the "at-risk" teams
defined at the top.
- View any box scores for any games that occurred in the month of April
- Use the "Cloud" feature or transfer any "at-risk" (see above) files
between the Vita and PS3

Special thx to bkrich83 and Bobhead for their help

Well that sucks!

What day did the patch come out? I started my franchise in the afternoon of Thursday April 12. I really hope I had downloaded the patch before that. After 9 games I have had no freezing issues.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Title update 1.06 Schedule Issue

thank you for taking the time out to explain and help with the situation. a few others and myself have also had freezes while playing exhibition games. where as the game never froze once on me before the patch since its release I have had 5 lock ups that didnt exist before the patch. perhaps these can be looked in to? the situations that led to the freezing are listed below.

-twice it has happened after a ball bounced over the wall on a ground rule double

-once it was when my pitcher was throwing a ball and he froze. you could still hear the sound effect of the ball hitting the catchers glove, but the ball was never thrown and the game froze on that.

- one I had just today was that my outfielder simply froze in the field on a line drive, the ball went to the wall. no one went to get it, the cpu got an in the park home run, and the screen simply stayed on that.

- another one today was the game locked up when I edited my starting line up in the pre game screen after downloading todays roster update.

(all of these happened while I was using the mets, but against different opponents in different stadiums.)

If you haven't had any issues sim to May 1st and you will be completely out of the clear.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Title update 1.06 Schedule Issue

i would like to know if all the people that downloaded the patch and then erased the patch and restarted there franchises and are still having major freezing issues, if that is being looked into? i find it odd that someone would have no real problems (basically) except the start times, download the patch, have a bunch of freezing problems, then follow the suggestions on this site to erase the patch, and then still have a bunch of freezing problems

I really don't want to sim because I want to play all 162.
What about creating a second save and if something does mess up before May 1st, I can just load that other save up and sim then. Would that be a useful work around with us that want to play all 162? Kind like a fail safe if some does happen.
