my player (post patch) thoughts

This is on 12min quarters sim mode and all star level

1. Your teammates make no effort to get offensive rebounds so team excluding you average about 1 per game compared to opponents 8 or so.

2. running plays leads computer team to get wide open threes whereas for your team leads to stupid threes in traffic from your guards. Computer averages around 40% , your team 20%.

3. The worse position you in the more likely your team mates are to pass to you. When you wide open underneath the hoop you have to call for the ball but when you outside with 2 seconds to go and a terrible long range shooter you'll be passed to regularly.

4. opposing team's timing of shots is always perfect. If they miss it's because of shot difficulty. Your teammates will, depending on the scoreline, shoot awfully despite having easy shots. Nowitzky missing 2 A+ shots in a row is just idiotic.

5. Passing/steals is a joke. The opponent knows exactly where you going to pass before you do it. If your passing skills are not high your player passes rediculously slowly so it's simple to intercept. Other times your teammates will just drop an easy pass and somehow that is your fault and the turnover is given against you.

6. Jump shots are totally broken. It's way too difficult to hit shots (for you or teammates) from close and mid range so you have to focus on passing to your big men inside.

I really don't know why the developers would think people would find it more fun playing with teammates who are a bunch of morons instead of just making your teammates play in the same way and at the same level as your opponents.

I just picked up NBA 2k12. Just for comparison's sake, how did it play pre latest patch?

My Player needs sliders. They won't solve everything, but its so much better(I'm playing it on PC and using some 'interesting' techniques to get sliders on it). Its a lot of fun now- teammates shoot more from mid-range and three, less offensive rebounds and frustrating turnovers, etc. Without crew, I don't see a reason why the mode shouldn't have them. Even if they have crew next year, put sliders in the mode anyway, damn the consequences. 2k said its their most popular mode, and sliders would make it much more enjoyable.

Feels the same to me. I've been playing MLB 2k My Player and it's goals system is much more feasible and realistic. NBA 2k's hall of fame goals system just encourages cheesing. Also I think My Player would be benefited by just using sliders. Association is great because you can tune sliders to get accurate gameplay.

The PC just hits shots with ease even if you have good shot defense. Realistic fail. FAIL. Stupid team mates. I play for the Rockets and when I feed it to Scola down low, he backs down his defender, takes a fu**** up contact shot which gets blocked anyway.

AND I'M PLAYING ON ****ING PRO.

I won 7 games in a row on pro then tried all star but it was a joke. 5 awful games. Gone back to pro. I guess a higher level might be ok if you don't use your teammates at all and do all the scoring yourself but otherwise have to avoid.

One other thing i've noticed is when opponents get an offensive rebound they seem to score almost every time immediately from it whereas if my teammates get one (which as i said is hardly ever) they then follow it up with a weak shot which is blocked.
