Franchise Surprises

Just wondering if anybody has any things they've found surprising in their franchises.

Here's some of mine (it's mid-June):
  • Reds 1B Joey Votto hitting around .280
  • Reds C Devin Mesoraco hitting .148 (a 4 for 4 day got that up to .170)
  • AL West has Oakland in second (about 5 games back), and LAA in third at 14 games back (8 games under .500).
  • Prince Fielder hitting .383 with 31 homers
  • New York Mets above .500. In fact, every team in the division but Atlanta is within 2 wins/losses of .500.
  • Orioles hanging around a tightly contested AL East (Toronto is the over 13 games out)
  • Giants are 8 games below .500, with the Rockies and Dbacks duking it out in the NL West

What things have caught your eye in your franchise?

I remember in 2011 the show, I noticed that Miguel Cabrera was hitting .345 with 38 HR and 93 RBI's by the All-Star Break lol

The biggest surprise of them all was when I faced the Cubs in the World Series in My 2011 Yankees Franchise Season, it just didn't feel right, you know? No offense to cubs fans out there.

Re: Franchise Surprises

In my Padres franchise I have them in 2nd place in the NL West at 10 games over .500 in August even though I lose the majority of games I play so that is a major surprise. The Giants are in last place, and Logan Forsythe made the All Star team with a .260 batting average 0 HR and 3 RBI's

Well that's kinda disturbing...not that it should matter but how many games has he played? And how many steals/walks/errors does he have? Maybe he is having a record breaking season with steals and walks and a beast in the field lol.

Re: Franchise Surprises

The Rockies have the best record in the MLB and at one point were 13-0.

I just called him up the game before the all star game, and he only played the first two weeks of the season so that is certainly not the case haha. I remember in past years this happened as well, there was always one player in the all star game that had minimal stats
