Advice on defense?

I seem to always have a problem with defense in this game and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on valuable information that will help my defense improve. In the last season of my legacy with a power conference school, I had the #1 offense in the country. Contrarily, I was ranked somewere in the 300s in defense. Sad thing is my defense rating for the team that year was 92. I don't know if it's the playbook I'm using or what, but all I know is we get abused by 3 pointers no matter what defense I play. The opposing team always passes the ball around until one of the CPU players on my team loses track of their man, and they exploit the opportunity seamlessly every instance. I also have a problem with my bigs not boxing out or defending the paint. Too often have I seen my big guys allowing the CPU to get right in front of the hoop. Another thing is when there's a fast break and the PG gets back before everyone else. The CPU does that unblockable pivot layup while the PG just stands there and lets him score. Up till now, I haven't found any way to prevent it from happening unless I take control of the PG, which I'm able to make some stops here and there by doing so. If anyone can offer some advice, I'd deeply appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

try to block it every time, even if you aren't anywhere near the shooter. if the game knows you didn't try to block it, the game knows you aren't hustling and is going to punish you

yeah I need help too, #1 in offense, in the 300's in defense. I try to contest every shot, and usually play man to man, with some zone here and there.

This. I've messed with help defense sliders and everything to try and fix this and nothing is working.

Re: Advice on defense?

Ignore the national statistics. It is based solely on field goal percentage, and although this is the most realistic sports video game ever created, it can't be absolutely flawless. It's a video game, after all, so obviously FG percentages are a bit inflated. That's why your offense has the highest and your defense has the lowest. You and your opponent make more shots on average than in real life.

teams tend to shoot so well against me.. and me against them... but in the end the better team usually wins so it doesn't make me to upset ha

Defense rank
