Need All-Star Total Control Sliders for MLB 2k12

Been trying a few slider sets here in these forums but find that they are all for classic hitting. Does anyone have a good set for total control hitting? I tried all the slider sets and they don't produce good hitting stats.

Not sure if you tried my slider set. They are Total Control. They are set from the Legend Setting though, as I know your asking for All-Star set.

Re: Need All-Star Total Control Sliders for MLB 2k12

I'm hesitant to start my own slider thread yet as I'm just now about to start trying to tweak them. I have no idea how sensitive the categories are but wanted to share some insights & statistics. I'd love insight from anyone who has tips on how to improve the slider set.

Since real life baseball games can be drastically different from one another (one game might a 2-1 pitcher's duel while the next is a 9-7 slugging fest), I felt it was important to play several games to get a decent data sample. It's also relevant to assume that the more you play, the better you'll get at the game. Worth noting too is just because I'm good or bad at one particular area of the game doesn't mean you will be as well.

So, these are the results from 10 games using ONLY default All-Star sliders with total control pitching (analog) and total control (analog) hitting:

DETROIT TIGERS: 6W - 4L

Offense (ranking among teams in parenthesis):
AVG = .249 (17th) SLG = .358 (21st) 2B = 9 (29th) 3B = 2 (15th) HR = 8 (15th) BB = 25 (28th) SO = 46 (29th) RBI = 30 (24th)

Initial conclusion:

Average is a little light, but potentially OK as it could be due to my lack of skills. More telling is the lack of extra base hits, mainly doubles. Since my HRs are middle of the pack, I'm hesitant to beef up the power slider though. Fielder already has 5 HRs on my team (tied for 1st), putting him on an initial pace for 80. Without Fielder, the rest of my team only has 3. Is it a case of good players being "too money"? Possibly, meaning that lowering batter's eye may be worth considering.

Due to poor slugging, maybe power deserves a boost, or maybe base running speed should increase or CPU fielder speed should decrease? I'm also not striking out or walking nearly enough, making me wonder how I can compensate for that without seeing my .avg plummet. If I turn UP contact, I'd fear that I'd never strike out.

Pitching
ERA = 2.35 (4th) K = 109 (1st) BB = 5 (1st) BAA = .229 (4th) CG = 2 (1st)

Initial conclusion:

Pitching is too dominant. In addition to my starters going late into the game, the CPU appears to have holes in their bats. I'm averaging 11 K's per game and walking is basically a non-factor. Also, I didn't notice a stat for HRs given up, but I can only remember giving up only 1 or 2 (and I remember because it was so rare and therefore shocking).

So I'm thinking that increasing CPU contact and CPU Power is a given. Lowering Pitch Break Influence *may* cause CPU bats to miss less. Pitcher control should surely be lowered.

So, for my next 10 games, I want to change the sliders a bit and see what kind of results I get. Here's what I'm thinking of changing things to:

BATTING (USER)
Batters eye - 35 (all star) to 20 (legend)
No other changes

PITCHING (USER)
Meter speed - 65 (all star) to 75 (legend)
Pitch Break influence - 50 (all star) to 40
Composure influence - 55 (all star) to 65 (legend)
Pitcher control - 45 (all star) to 30 (legend)

BATTING (CPU)
AI Contact - 55 (all star) to 70 (legend)
AI Power - 50 (all star) to 80 (legend)

PITCHING (CPU)
AI Pitch success - 60 (all star) to 75 (legend)
AI Strike tendency - 50 to 35 (hopefully moved the correct way?)

Feedback would be appreciated but I'll try a few games this way and see how it goes.

Thanks. I'd like to see your results. Most people on here say that hitting is more authentic with classic hitting. I may give that a try, but I love the natural motion of analog batting.

Re: Need All-Star Total Control Sliders for MLB 2k12

i play with mkharsh's sliders with total control hitting and im getting pretty good results. if your on top of you power/contact/defensive swings you can do all the same classic hitting does. i usually use power swings ahead in the count. contact if im behind. and defensive as more of a twitch reaction to a pitch when i have 2 strikes.

Re: Need All-Star Total Control Sliders for MLB 2k12

I played a part of a game with the new sliders I suggested and realized I overcompensated. I restarted with even newer slider changes and those might not be perfect yet either. I struck out 8 and walked 4, so I'm excited that it's possible to have a game where control is an issue!

I'd increased pitch speed slightly to try to generate more extra base power and tried to up contact and hitter's eye to compensate. Judging by my results, that needs more fine tuning. I did get a couple of doubles and a homer, but I got 13 hits. Oh, and I struck out 7 times which is an increase for the better...

I increased running speed by 1 tick. Ended up with 4 SB... which is probably ridiculous. Granted one was a double steal. Either I was more confident or the slight increase makes close plays into steals. I wanted the increased speed to create doubles in close calls but it might have created feisty stealers instead.

I do feel there is a balance, I just haven't struck it yet.
