HR's with Classic Hitting

DO you guys push the left stick up while swinging to get more HR's? Or do you get them by just hitting the button?

Also, with total control hitting... does it matter how long you hold your backswing?

I don't influence my hits at all. I Jjst press the button and rely on getting good contact with good timing on a good pitch

Re: HR's with Classic Hitting

most have mine have been the right timing (classic hitting) and squaring the ball up. Occassionally I'll lift up...but that's only if I'm trying to get a fly ball to move runners over...same with holding left or right for situational hitting.

I've hit HR's both ways. Just hit one with Matt Holliday hitting only the A button (360) and went oppo on a outside fastball that was moving off the plate.

Re: HR's with Classic Hitting

With classic hitting I've been finding it better to just hit the A button and rely on timing too. Solid contact and timing and you can go yard easily, last game I played I hit a home run with Derek Jeter, meanwhile in the first like 25 games I played with the Yankees he never hit one so I like the variety I get now with classic hitting.

I use the right stick, and have no problems hitting. The button isn't as realistic to using the RS to me. To each his own.

Re: HR's with Classic Hitting

I hit HR's all the time on default All-Star sliders. I don't do anything special either, just hit "A" and be done. On classic I don't think there is any kind of "influence" with the L-Stick at all, I don't even touch it when I'm batting or the R-Stick either.

Re: HR's with Classic Hitting

I don't understand how y'all are hitting home runs with the A button. For some reason this year I can't hit with any power by using classic hitting. Did y'all adjust the sliders or anything?
