Outfielders arms too strong or Base runners too slow?

Does anyone here besides me think its almost to easy to throw out a runner heading to first base on a clean base hit to right field?

I have only played a few games so far and have already done it 3 times with Hunter Pence.

And I know he has a pretty good arm but I did not think it was that good.

What do you think needs to be fine tuned? The outfielders arm strength or the base runners speed?

Either the outfielders arms are too strong or the base runners are too slow compared to real life.

I am leaning toward the base runners are too slow in this game. I even hit a ball into the corner with Ryan Howard and he was easily thrown out at second base. In real life I think he would have been safe at second.

I think for MLB 13 The Show Sony needs to make the base runners a little faster or outfielders less powerfull arms.

What do you all think?

I reduced fielder throwing speed down one notch after I threw out Coco Crisp on a diving stop by my 3rd baseman, seems to have helped.

I know this is a problem online. Off line not so much as the CPU doesn't try it and neither do I. Not much you can do unless SCEA does something to the on-line situation not much you can do about it.

But I am thinking about lowering user throwing a bit or upping my analog throwing difficulty, I have been 5/5 throwing guys out a home and 3/3 at third with Nick Markakis so far in about 15 exhibition games.

It's not really a problem offline since the computer doesn't attempt to throw you out, but it does speak to a gameplay balance issue. On a hard hit ball to right field the RF comes up with the ball like he's about to throw, but then he doesn't. And watch your baserunner almost always sprints to first and then stops right on the bag. It looks a little odd, but the result is fine.

Personally, I'm seeing waaaaaay too many diving stops by infielders. I'm seeing somewhere in the vicinity of 2-4 highlight reel diving plays a game. I turned down reaction and fielder speed by two clicks, but it doesn't seem to do much. Maybe I'll try upping the error slider in the hopes that they start missing some of these diving plays.

I think it's definitely the arms. These guys are superhuman this year. I have my arm strength lowered all the way to 1.

As for infield troubles, try increasing the Batting Power on both sides. That will make the balls roll through the infield quicker. I have mine at 7 each.

I had contact at 5 and power at 7 on each side but the cpu was hitting 4-5 home runs a game off me. How do I fix this? It was always on different pitches in different locations and only a few to guys with good power numbers so it wasnt like I was just throwing the pall down the middle each time.

There are a few posts about this in the "bugs & glitches" thread.

Had a RF throw out a guy at first today in a double-A game against my son.

Try explaining THAT to an incredulous eight-year old.
