losing faith

Hey guys.. im normally not the type to come on a forum and throw myself a pity party but it seems like tonight somethings wrong with this game. I use classic 1/4 guess pitch and i always have and last year it worked fine. Now it seems like every single ball i hit ends up getting caught. Through 8 games tonight of batting i have 24 hits and 32 strikeouts.. and maybe 1 or 2 hrs.. i thought to myself ok maybe my team is in a slump i'll go play some exhibition games with different teams.. same thing happened. Is anyone else having this problem with guess pitch on? Thanks in advance i have just lost all hope after playing tonight

When you use guess pitch you are penalized if you don't guess correctly. It's not the game.

Have a game plan when you're at the plate. I've played a few games so far that I haven't had much luck but still end up with 6-8 hits a game. Patience is key in this game in my opinion.

Im playing on all star difficulty with timing and guess pitch 1/4.. do you guys recommend dropping guess pitch all together and maybe dropping down the difficulty level until i get the swing of things? Its not like im striking out.. im really only averaging like 4 a game.. every time i hit the ball it seems someone catches it

I use 1/4 guess pitch on Veteran. I have very few hits too. I just played a 13 inning game and had 6 hits. I would switch off guess pitch but after doing it for the last 4 or 5 years it's too much of a habit now.

In my opinion the guess pitch (as well as guess location) does more harm than good. I hate any artificial system Especially when boosts are given.

So I think you should stop using it and concentrate on the pitches etc. Lower pitch speed and the level until you feel you're up to raising the level.

My answer to this question is always "Yes". A much more realistic game can be had without using guess pitch. Like PhilliesFan says "Have a game plan at the plate" You can do guess pitch on your own without the in game aid. Sit on a location and react to anything there. It may be tough for a few games, especially if you've been using Guess for years. In the end though you're going to have much results and more fun with it.

If lowering difficulty or pitch speed is needed to make the transition easier then do it. You'll be happy in the end.

Sounds good.. ive played the show since like 09 but for some reason this year the guess pitch just doesnt seem to work.. i will keep the pitch speed at the same and drop down to veteran for hitting and see how i do.. maybe once i get used to it i can up the difficulty again.. i will drop guess pitch too i guess, just have been using it for so long.. mind as well get used to not using it now.. thanks for your reply

Yeah i think im going to stay at all star for pitching and drop down to veteran for hitting and just use timing with out guess pitch and see how that goes.. like i said i can hit, it just seems all my hits go to the other team, constantly.. i'll drop down and see if i get better results. The only reason i really used guess pitch is because i can never find the right camera angle to help me pick up low pitches.. so i kind of used it as a crutch
