Curious to see how you guys would rate NBA2K12's gameplay.

...inspired me to run this poll because there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy among the community. Some of us think the game is adequately challenging and offers a fun experience, and some of us think the game is completely broken. And then there is a full range of opinions in between.

I would like to know something very simple: on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this year's gameplay? This could apply to offline gameplay against the CPU, online against a human, my player mode, etc. However YOU play the game the most, rate your gameplay experience 1-10.

Keep this in mind: the LAST thing I want to do is to start arguments here. If you disagree with what someone posted, don't respond by attacking the person. I'd like to see a healthy discussion among us where both sides bring evidence to the table for justifying their rating. There are no wrong answers - just opinions.

Curious to see where the game "averages" in the community's opinion. So...thoughts?

I went "7". I think the game plays beautifully the majority of the time, but there's always a point during the game where you're saying to yourself "Really? Really!?!" That's what keeps it from being an 8 or 9. It happens so often it's hard to ignore.

This is a great example of a solid poll - you rarely see that here anymore.

The gameplay, focused on my experience with how the CPU handles itself and my teammates is a 7. In terms of my control offensively it is an 8 or 9. Defensively it is a 6 or 7.

I still enjoy the game, however. I just think it needs a few tweaks/additions in some areas.

7. Though some games on All-Star play like a 5.5. Tweaked with sliders brings it close to an 8 or 8.5.

For reference 2k11 was about an 8.5.

Agree with Pared that offensive control is about an 8 to 9. Player and shot control is very very nice this year.
