Who's ready for baseball?

Usually, I am still knee deep into football this time of year, but despite the cold weather, I am finding myself really excited for the upcoming baseball season...

Perhaps it was the Montero trade that got me going, or watching Moneyball right before that deal was announced, or the fact that The Show forum is picking up some steam... Whatever the reason, I am ready for spring to be here. I am excited to take my toddler son to some minor league games, and dare I make the trek to Seattle to see if he can sit still for an entire Mariners game...

I am starting to mentally plan my "baseball day" where I hole up in my house and watch baseball movies all day... It's going to come sooner this year, I think.
  • Moneyball
  • Field of Dreams
  • Major League I and II
  • Little Big League
  • *61
  • The Sandlot
  • For Love of the Game (a bit sappy, but still some cool baseball scenes)
I am sure I am committing a huge sin by forgetting some, but that's just off the top of my head...

Off to The Show forum...

BASEBALL NEEDS TO GET HERE!

Re: Who's ready for baseball?

I have Moneyball in my Netflix queue, so I'll be watching that in a few days. My baseball rotation is usually Field of Dreams, the Natural, and my favorite of them all Major League. I also might have to watch the 2010 Rangers Championship DVD again.

I'm going to try and get tickets to see Texas Christian play Mississippi during the first week of college baseball, and then I'll be watching my UT-Arlington Mavericks play in the UTA Invitational. If you're itching for baseball, go and support your local college or high school. It's usually really good baseball.

Re: Who's ready for baseball?

I am so ready. I might go to a few Texas Tech games, since they're like $15. I went to 2 or 3 last year, and they were awesome.

Re: Who's ready for baseball?

I'm always ready for baseball. I've been watching tons of MLB Network recently and it's making me miss it more and more. Baseball withdrawal, if you will.

Re: Who's ready for baseball?

I've been ready for a while now and during the offseason i've had a couple or so classic baseball games to keep my interest alive (as if that needs to be done!) but I do have another old game in the queue for the week of Jan. 30th (A midseason Astros/Expos game in '86) Just the idea of baseball warms this guy's soul so let's get to it!
