Coaching profile changes (cheese)

Why is it that I get soo much hate for editing Portlands coaching profiles pregame. . . Portland isn't a slow paced half court team this year they're a running team now which isn't reflected with a 17 Offensive tempo/12 Fast break.

I make these changes. . .

Offensive Tempo 17 to 42 (More uptempo, look to push the ball up court and looks for breaks)
Defensive Pressure 53 to 59 (More aggressive offensively and defensively this year)

Help Defense 52 to 62 (Portland traps/doubles a lot this year)

Fast Break 12 to 30 (Good number for a team becoming a running team)

Run Plays from 95 to 89 (More breaks a bit less half court set plays)

Zone Usage from 9 to 20 (Were 2nd in the NBA in Zone usage last year, have gotten away from it this year though)

Attack the Basket from 38 to 42 (Team is more aggressive this year)

Throw Alley-Oops from 90 to 92 (Lead the league in Oop points last year)

Guards-Forwards from 40 to 55 (Roy's departure, now Aldridge's team)

I don't see how this is "cheese" if I'm trying to better replicate my teams current style of play. I think coaching profiles are somewhat of a grey area for most 2k gamers, I'd gladly take the time to explain each setting if requested in this thread as some automatically assume "cheese". I laugh every time I'm matched up against an opponent that first thing selects "Play Tight" on my entire line-up, then deny's ball on all of them and wonders why Aldridge gets a easy free release to the basket for a dunk every time.

So do you guys believe Coaching Profiles changes are "Cheese"? If so please explain. . .

If that's considered cheese by some, then even playing the game at all will eventually be considered cheese. The "sim/cheese" discussion does get ridiculous sometimes.

Plus "cheese" can usually be easily stopped by playing good basketball.

Never believe anything you hear from an online opponent.

Just asking for a opinion, a poll if you will. . . just with detailed explanations.

Re: Coaching profile changes (cheese)

I dont even bother with changing anything in the coaching profile for online because most of it is things that I control. I will control when the team will run zone, when an alley opp is thrown, or when a play is run.

I understand changing things like help defense, or defensive pressure, but when someone is spending a minute trying to adjust the attack the basket slider it just gets very annoying when you will determine how often your team will drive to the hoop.

But no I dont think changing those sliders is cheese at all. Just a bit uncalled for at times.

Re: Coaching profile changes (cheese)

Those who say its cheese are those who play 2 on 5 and run around all game. Then when things arent working and turnovers are being forced they blame it on your adjustments instead of there user errors. When playing someone who takes what the D gives and dont force anything they wont even pay it any mind.

Also
Zone Usage,Attack the Basket,Throw Alley-Oops, and Guards-Forwards are only useful when the cpu is controlling the team. When your playing with them all that is up to the user.

Re: Coaching profile changes (cheese)

The way you use it isn't cheese, but the coach profile settings CAN definitely be cheesed.

How many people use the Heat and then put offensive tempo, defensive pressure, help defense, fast break, double teams, and attack the basket all to 100.
