Who will win the Championship this year?

Now that we've seen many moves in this short offseason, what team has made the moves to win it all? Obviously we all know the Mavs are out to defend their title and have made quite a splash with trades and signings (Vince Carter, Lamar Odom). Yes they've lost Barea, Butler, and Tyson. But I still do believe that Carter and Odom will make it easy to forget them. Obviously the question mark is the loss of Chandler and Haywood stepping up. I think Haywood will be just fine filling in.

Then we head over to Miami and we know what's going on down there. They have added Battier to the mold of things down there. I just don't think they have a big man that can get the job done.

The Lakers obviously are still going to be tough. Yes they've lost Odom, but with Artest, Bynum, and Gasol, and obviously Kobe they should be just fine. If they can land CP3/Howard in the end, they would be the instant favorites.

The Knicks are right up there with Dallas IMO. I think adding Chandler and a smarter PG who is an excellent passing guard, that will be all the Knicks need to win it all. If they can manage to swoop in and get J. Crawford, they will definitely be a favorite this year.

You still have to consider Boston. They're an older team just as Dallas is, but Dallas won last year. So it says a lot that age doesn't matter. I think any time you have 3 players like Garnett, Allen, and Pierce, and a PG that falls into place as does Rondo, you have to consider Boston.

OKC! OKC! OKC! Yes the Thunder could be dangerous. They played so well when they had Jeff Green almost knocking off LA 2 years ago. This past year they were just jelling trying to fit Perkins into the system. I think that was a bit of a setback. I think now that they have had time to learn the offense with Perkins there, they also have to be considered. That was OKC's biggest question mark. Could they win without a true big. Now they have a true big and could quite possibly be the toughest team to guard with all the speed they have there.

So with that all said, who will win it all this season? And give reasons to backup your choice.

I voted for Dallas because I just feel they have 2 players that are very tough to guard in Odom and Dirk. Vince Carter and Jason Kidd with Jason Terry and Shawn Marion off the bench is also going to be tough to defend. They also have Roddy Buckets, Deshawn Stevenson, Brandan Wright, Rudy Fernandez (if he chooses to not be a little *****), Corey Brewer, and Ian Mahinmi who was very big for them in the playoffs. I really think they have all the pieces in place to make another run.

That's why Dallas is my choice.

What an awful, awful poll. To not include the Bulls after they had the best record in the league last year and lost no major pieces is

EDIT: And you included the Knicks?

I hope to god it is not, but I say Miami.

I'm a Knicks fan, but I think we will come up short.

Re: Who will win the Championship this year?

How do you leave out Chicago when they had the best record in the NBA and made it to the ECF. And they are keeping virtually the entire team as last year with an extra year of experience and Jimmy Butler plus likely Rip Hamilton...

Had to vote "other"

I've heard those Washington Generals are a pretty formidable team...
