What is your "Dream Team" like??

No players in general, just type of players at each position.. for example:

PG: scorer or passer or shooter? size over speed?
SG: shooter? big enough to play SF or small enough to play PG?
SF: slasher or shooter or scorer? rebounder? Can play PF or SG?
PF: good mid ranger or deep in post? defensive minded or offensive?
C: defensive or offensive? etc etc

Ideal 6th man: what position would he play and what would he bring to the line-up?
role players: shooters? Or maybe just someone to give your starters a breather?

I'm just curious, as I like to take my association teams on different routes instead of always building the same type of team. Please feel free to go into detail on your choices if you choose, I'm really interested in the responses..

THANKS!!

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Pass first guy that can hit the 3 (Jason Kidd or Steven Nash with defense)
SG: All-round scorer that can pretty much shoot from anywhere (Kobe Bryant)
SF: Great at spotting up for the open 3, terrific defender that can play the passing lane as well as going for the block (Josh Smith with 3pt range)
PF: Low post beast that can take it to the rim as well as having a nice mid range game (Amare, Dirk, etc.)
C: defensive stopper that has a limited offensive game- gets most of his points either from lead-in passes or putbacks (Dikemebe Mutombo)

Sixth man: someone that brings instant offensive scoring (Jamal Crawford)

To me the key is balance; you don't wanna have too much shooters or too much players that clog up the paint.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Pass first guy that takes smart shots and can disrupt the opponent offense with D (Stockton)
SG: All-round scorer that can shoot (MJ)
SF: Great athlete, all around player, terrific defender (Pippen)
PF: Low post presense that has some mid range game and can rebound (Duncan)
C: Tall defensive minded player that anchor the team D and has an average offensive game (Olajuwon, thus his O game is nowhere near average, well above)

Sixth man: offensive minded combo guard or wing, with long range (Jason Terry)

The Offense has to have as many weapons as possible and all players must stand on their on Defending, while all the above starting 5 examples are incredible on O, what I seek the most is their awesome commitment on D. Defense does win championships.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

Good thread topic...I like it.

PG: Pure PG with outstanding three-point shooting. (Mark Price)
SG: Three point threat with size and with the ability to drive (Dan Majerle at his peak)
SF: Shut down defender who can do a little bit of everything (Pippen)
PF: Athletic rebounder and shot blocker (Shawn Kemp or Kevin Garnett)
C: Pure defender and shot blocker that can run the floor (Marcus Camby)

Ideal 6th man: Guard that can shoot (Jeff Hornacek or Mitch Richmond)

role players: Athletic players that can get out in transition.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Fast PG who can hit the three. I want him to be able to play passing lanes and force turnovers and bad point guards. Less concerned with handling and playmaking, just hit shots and dont turn it over.

SG: Tall shooter. Can put the ball on deck a bit, but I want a shooter. i.e. Klay Thompson.

SF: I want a ball dominant dude who can iso and score from anywhere, i.e. Carmelo. Will hit the three, go off the dribble, or post up. Can make a nice pass too and rebound if necessary.

PF: Someone who can finish off the pick and roll, knock down an open mid range jumper. A little post up game helps. Doesn't necessarily need to be an amazing defender.

C: a 7'0" defensive wall. Offense is nice, but if all he can hit are open lay ups and put backs, that's good enough. Should be an all-star based off rebounding and shot blocking.

6th man: A knock down three point shooting SG who can play point too. i.e. Jamal Crawford

7th man: A PF/C with a little post up game.

8th/9th/10th: Shooter, pure PG, big dude who can pick up fouls.
