Straight up crossover ineffective?

Would anybody else agree, the straight up crossover ie l2 and left or right on the left stick is very ineffective, I seem to only ever bump into the defender, the animation seems to take you forward as well as just to the side.

I love the game and after some practice im getting the hang of things, but one or two things still irk me like this.

I've been saying this since the game was released. Stepbacks work and hesitations do also. Crossovers and in and outs do not. Double crosses seem to work a bit.

I just don't use them anymore. When I do I get sucked into the defender and then we go for some nice little ride where he drags me across half the arena.

This needs to be looked at.

Yeah I agree, I thought it was just my ability to execute, but I guess not! It seems a bit lame to always have to hesitate or step back in order to beat a defender off the dribble.

Re: Straight up crossover ineffective?

i find all dribble moves effective. given the right situation. if you use the cross off a pass before the defender can read it it works beautifully. use the momentum system too. if you walk a direction and he cuts you off hit turbo and then cross. trust me youll be satisfied if you try these tips

All the dribble moves work depending on the matchup and situation.....i actually use the basci crossover the most....rock back and forth until i see my defender out of posistion the im outta there!

crossovers tend to hit the defenders knee a lot...
