How to get a decent contract in My Player mode

Ok everyone I have some great news...Since I wasn't able to find someone posting about their new contracts after their rookie contract I will give you a lil insight on my NEW CONTRACT.

A little background about my myplayer. I originally play as a PF(since 2k10) normally 6'10 270. Since I was introduce to crew last year I faced a lot of 7'7 guys and still dominated undersized. N E Way I tried a PF this year and it took too long to upgrade so instead I made a 7'0 SF. Drafted by the Jazz I stayed with them for a year and won my first MVP and Finals. Then moved on to ATL my second year won another MVP and Finals and then on to Lakers. Since I was traded so many times I was never able to get a new contract after 2 years. Then I ended up on the Bulls (lol i kno) and lose in the first round to the nets in game 7.

Finally Im a free agent (4th year) and had almost 12 offers from several of teams. Miami had the best roster with Brandon Jennings Dwayne Wade and Blake Griffin. I went into negotiations and they offered me 11 million a year for 5 years. You have 3 selections to choose from. 1. more money 2. more years 3. player option (idk what that means) I asked for more money and they offered 12.58 million a year but they said they were getting frustrated! MAKE SURE YOU DON'T ASKED FOR TOO MUCH MONEY U MIGHT LOSE THE OFFER.

So now I get paid 533k every 2 weeks!!! btw i have a 97 overall and i play on hall of fame sim with 7-9 minute qrt

player option is very simple. They're offering you the ability to choose if you want to stay one more year(or the last one) of the contract. Say you like playing for the heat but they make some bad choices and the team gets worse. That player option will either add one more year or make the last year your choice if you want to come back to the team or not(I dont know how it applies exactly to myplayer).

I would assume player option would be really good for 1 situation in myplayer. If you're on a team "coming down the mountain"(only has a few years of supremacy/contending left) and want to "escape before they hit rock bottom". Another reason would be at the end of your career when I would hope your stats diminish and you can barely make the roster. Your last contract maybe so you can tag along for the ride if they have what it takes to win it all instead of surely being cut.

I havent actually done this in myplayer yet but thats what its for in the nba. Great players are given option years where they can choose if they want to continue fulfilling the full contract or get out of a bad situation. If you're a rookie you get the opposite treatment, you have a team option(thats why that first contract is 4 years and not 2). The team can decide after those first 2 GUARANTEED years if they want to keep you around or just cut you at no penalty. Mainly beneficial for keeping young superstars cheaply or getting rid of busts after only 2 years.
