Realistically rated draft class?

I am looking for a draft class that has the real players that may come out for the 2012 nba draft (if there is one) such as harrison barnes, anthony davis, austin rivers. But I feel like every one i see the ratings are just way to high, half of them are rated 75+. I was wondering if there is one that has some toned down ratings that are much more realistic. I am working on a draft class but only have the 1st round finished. Been working on the class since the game came out using draft express, youtube, espn insider, nbadraft.net and any other reference material I can get my hands on.
Im at work so I cant remember the exact ratings but only the top 10 is above a 70 rating. What I dont get is why so many draft class makers want to sacrifice a rookies physical attributes such as speed just so the player can have a "low enough" rating yet that same player will never develop the deserved speed or other physical attribute in association that he should already have as a rookie. Ive tried to avoid that issue with my class.
I have Barnes at a 76 because of his experience over Davis and Drummond who are at a 75 and the rest 74 and below. Potentials are also good for association. Nobody is above an 85 and most are under 75.
Ive put alot of effort into ratings, looks, tendencies, shot etc for every player. I hope everyone likes it when I post it to 2k share. Hopefully by mid-November and a 2013 class should be up by January.

I dont need everyone to have a low enough rating its just unrealistic that so many rookies would be able to perform at such a high level. And for physical ratings they should be taken back a little because they are relative to NBA players. In college and high school sure these guys are gonna be faster and jumper higher etc but relative to the NBA players it wont be nearly as dominant. Obviously there are some exceptions such as john walls speed and he was rated an 82 as a rookie, I just dont wanna see too many guys be that great because I dont think thats realistic.

The problem with most draft classes is they Rate the Players by what they think their Potential will get them to in a few seasons. They need to be rated on their actual playing skills now and give the players with Huge upside higher Potential.

I have J. Sullinger, and H. Barnes at 75. (Highest.)
Lottery at 67-73 rating
Mid 1st 63-67
Late 60-63
2nd rounders at 57-60 ratings

I used Draftexpress.com as basis.
Used Synchromesh's analysis of potential.
Highest potential I placed was 80 (Drummond).

I totally understand! I used the original 2k rosters as comparisons for physical attributes.
Ex. Harrison Barnes is similar in speed and quickness to Carmelo IMO
I put Barnes at 82 SPD 85 QUI same as Carmelo.
I think he potentially could be faster than Melo but I figured he is a good basis and with progression may turn out faster than Melo.
Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter have similar speed and quickness ratings as well.

As far as potentials, I have been keeping track of tests that numerous guys have been doing on here. It appears that between 85-99 there isnt much difference in progression. So I kept the high potential guys no higher than 85. IMO 2k is very flawed in the potential rating. Potential essentially means progression in 2k instead of actual potential. Just because a guy has high potential doesnt mean he should have a high OVR in 3-4 years. Unfortunately thats the way it works in 2k from what Ive seen.
I have maybe 10-15 guys that will have 75 and above potential in my 2012 class all based on my opinion. Unfortunately thats the best I can do. There is no crystal ball for these guys!

I suggest you to open a new thraed here in Operation Sport > NBA 2K Roster to update and inform everybody about this nice project !

damn i wish that was for 360, its all good though.

And for potential, I believe that should be the players likelyhood of progressing. I remember my roommate and I would stay up late trying to rebuild franchises in 2k10 all the time. One time i drafted Brandon Knight did the potential minicamp and his pot rating was a 90. 2-3 yrs later his ovr grew to a 92 and he was the leader of my knicks. But in another franchise with the same draft class i got him again with the same minicamp and he hardly progressed. Rating no higher than an 80.

I believe the difference was the first time around he was the starter from his rookie year play 30+ min a game. And I spent the time doing weekly practices and really wanted him to develop. The second time around he came off the bench his first couple years only around 15 min a game, and never really got the opportunity to grow into his potential. I thought it was great though because it meant that the potential rating wasnt a definite "future allstar" rating. And that other factors go into player growth.
