Seahawks Offseason Tips

Hey all. Just finished my season with the Seahawks finishing 5-11.

I'm still somewhere in the playoffs (yes I sim and actually follow the playoffs even though I'm not in them) but I'm planning for the offseason.

I made no trades so far so I have all the players in tact that you'd expect. My main goal this offseason is to get a QB. T-Jax played 8 games going 2-6 and Whitehurst finished the year going 3-5. Neither of these guys can really manage my team I find.

I've been looking at trading for Clausen maybe, as the Panthers have Newton and don't need him, and I believe I could work with him well (think he's 70 OVR B Potential, will have grown after this season). I don't know what is fair value to part with for him though.

So what would you guys give up for Clausen? Or would you pursue another QB? Who and Why?

(keep in mind I'm looking to keep Lynch because I like his game)

Thanks in advance for any tips

Re: Seahawks Offseason Tips

Look for a backup QB in the draft for sure (2nd+ round). As for a starter, it is hard to find a decent one for a decent price. I have always played well with Nate Davis. He isn't elite, but he has some serious skills that seem to put him well above his ratings.

Clausen is just an ok QB, I wouldn't put any measure of hope into him saving your franchise. He is probably only worth one extra win. Colin Kaepernick of the 49ers is a very mobile and decently accurate QB too. Worth a look for sure.

If you don't see any good QBs in the draft (which I am assuming you are pretty high in the order) then trade away a QB-worthy pick or two for a good QB.

I'm not a master of memorization, but there has got to be at least one or two free-agent QBs that are also worth a look. See what you can do there. If I remember correctly, the Seahawks don't have any true deep threat WRs, so don't worry too much about Deep Accuracy. Short and Medium are more important anyway.
