^^^portland is a great online team to use. I've been playing w/ them and the hornets in this game and 2k11. Portland is stacked imo, they have soo much talent and it's even better this year w/ the addition of Felton, he can get out and push the ball a lot faster than andre did in last years game. G-force can bang with the best of em so if you run into any heat cheesers pick up the tempo and throw alleys to Wallace and batum, I love embarrassing the heat online. If you play a more sim game online I love to run the pick and pop w/ Aldridge and once the d commits to stop his 10-17 foot jumper blow by them and get the easy two at the rim. B-roy coming off the bench is a great asset as well. He will put up numbers on the opponents 2nd unit. The post defense is beast w/ camby or oden in there. If you get beat they will collapse and block the shot and they rebound everything. In my offline chise I always start as the magic fire Patrick Ewing resign and switch to the blazers and add him as the assistant coach and then trade for patrick ewing jr. And deshawn Stevenson, P.Ew is a decent scorer once you work on his handling and jumper abd dont let him get into the lane because he will throw it down on anybody in the paint... ANYBODY see my youtube vids for reference. As for stevenson he plays that annoying defense on the perimeter and can knock down the three ball and you can't help but laugh and do the "you can't see me" gesture whenever he does it

sg-?, sf-?

Re: need tips using portland

So basically just use the actual starting five

It was even better last year with Brandon Roy at full strength (in the game).
They had some Big Three of their own with Oden as great developing talent at C and more than capable substitutions with Matthews, Batum and Fernandez. Plus a lot of flexibility with Mills as lightning quick PG or Johnson as good-sized PG for defense against shooters.

This year the Blazers are a bit weaker, Roy diminished in ovr value takes up a lot of caproom and Fernandez gone as quality shooter off the bench.
Their starting 5 are still very good, though. Especially with Oden beasting around.

As gameplay tips, usually you can go safely to Aldrige for either midrange game or better try to get him into low-post position.
I also like to use Oden down-low because he is so tall and strong that his defender often receives help from teammates and you can pass it back out if they do try to double team.
Also be aware of the secret option of getting Batum in at SG. He is quick but be careful that his matchup isn't significantly quicker. What he brings on that position is very good spot-up shooting plus good defense against good shooters. If you want to go big, this can be an option while keeping Wallace in at SF.

I'm intrigued to start a Portland Association as well, but I will wait until some good rosters are out. Otherwise I would need to restart the Association if I start one with the default rosters now and later find out that they're lame :/

Re: need tips using portland

Roy might be down quite a bit this year but put him and aldridge iso'd on the wing in the pick and roll/pop and go to work

Re: need tips using portland

have a CPU vs CPU game and watch how they use the team. pull out a notepad and jot down how they use certain players.
