Blockbuster Deal Sends Matsui To Texas

OAKLAND--Just days before the start of the season, the Athletics have dealt Matsui, Fuentes, and Kouzmanoff to Texas for Michael Young and minor leaguer Andrew Chavez. No comments have been made by the responsible parties at this time.

(In the next post, I'll pick up right where my cold open left off, with rosters (OSFM) and the first game!)

NO FOOLING MARINERS: ...But The Season Remains 'Young'

OAKLAND--The A's fell to the Mariners 5-3 today after a four run seventh inning for Seattle. The A's struck first with a three-run shot from Michael Young, but homers from Ichiro and Milton Bradley would silence the Athletics tonight. "King" Felix Hernandez got the seven-inning quality start, while Cahill, despite breaking down in the seventh, pitch eight innings.
