Legendary Surprises?

For you younger guys...
I'm wondering if any of the Legend players or teams have surprised you?
Is Wilt as domineeering as you thought?
Or have you played the Legend teams against any of today's teams, and were surprised that that old Knicks team could keep up with your Miami Heat?
Just curious as to your impressions through younger eyes.

Re: Legendary Surprises?

Penny was very tough because he could do it all, pass, hit the jumper and drive. The fact the he is 6'7 makes it tough too...

I was VERY surprised at how good Patrick Ewing was in-game. I know he's an all time great, but I didn't expect to absolutely burn the CPU with him like I did. Especially because the NBA Greatest challenges are pretty tough. He's the most enjoyable post player I've used so far in the game.

Logo. Jerry West is a beast. I gotta run him against Mj, Kobe, Wade, etc. and see what happens. Isiah Thomas and Dumars are a pretty nasty backcourt as well. That was the only blowout to go my way during the greatest challenges.

Yep. Didn't know Jerry West was such an unstoppable force. Just played a game with him: 28 pts, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, 13 steals

Re: Legendary Surprises?

I'm not sure I'd say surprised, but it was definitely something to have Jerry West putting in work like that. I mean, I knew he was great, but I've never seen him in full-fledged greatness mode, so this cyber-reality was interesting to watch.

My admitted ignorance (and subsequent surprise) was this: I'd always confused K.C. Jones and Sam Jones. Skill-wise, I thought they were both just about the same player playing for the same team. I was surprised to learn Sam Jones was such a killer, particularly on the team included in 2K12 (26ppg that season). I was equally surprised to learn K.C. Jones was a career 8ppg guy.

Yup, K.C. Jones was a defensive PG, great at it, offense not even close, Sam on the other hand was an offensive weapon. As for Jerry West, he was a complete beast, likewise in the game, great shooter with range and a quick release, must say he killed me in the game.

Re: Legendary Surprises?

Just finished the Knicks, Orlando challenge and blew a team for the first time. But surprisingly the man of the match wasn't Ewing but Oakley. I played on 5 minute quarters and he managed to do a double double 15 points 10 rebounds (5 offensive) and 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Any of you guys know who would be the equivalent of Oakley in the modern game? I really loved his style.

Just one major collective thought through some classic games so far, baby Shaq is nasty, sick and dominate.

92-93 hornets are awesome, love playing with them its so easy to get out and run with them also Dale Curry is everything that Seth and Stephen are.
