To Offline 2K Gamers - What would it take to get you online?

Posting this poll to all guys who avoid online game modes like the plague - what would it take for you to play online?

I post this because I'm pretty much a mostly online gamer and since 2k6 online leagues, the experience to me playing against CPU has never matched up to the experience in playing someone online. So I am curious to the reasons why people dismiss online modes.

Also, I was talking with this one cat at PAX and we were talking about NBA 2k11 and how we're looking forward to 2k12 and at the end, I invited him to play me online & possibly get into a league, and he was that's ok, I just prefer to play my association. But he plays in a clan in other games. I was at a loss for words....

Anyway I'd like to keep this thread open for discussion, so no bashing one over the other, and no complaining about 2k. That's not the scope of this conversation.

As an older guy(36), my time to play is limited. If I have an hour to play, I want to be sure that it will be an hour of quality gaming. I can get a good game vs the CPU every time. But when I went online with 2k11, I played against some random guy who dribbled around with Chris Paul until he found a lane to the basket. It was highly annoying. If I can be guaranteed a quality game every time, I would try it more. Maybe something like Madden did with its Communities feature.

For 2K specifically, have classic teams online too. I have played online but only with some family members and friends. I am really bad at this game so that's another reason I avoid online

Poor servers and laggy online. => Those keeps me away from online. Oh, and cheesers/cheaters.

Nothing. I'm not an online player, I'm a career mode obsessive, I only play sports games for the career mode.

I just dont like playing online. Dont know why. I just prefer playing CPU. I have a limited time to play games. Sometimes it is rare for me to sit through a whole game interrupted. Lag, cheese(not really cheese but forcing user to play a certain way. I am a big replay watching guy. I always like to see how a play went right/wrong almost every play. I usually just head into career modes the entire time I play, no play now/exhibition(use demo to get a feel of gameplay)

The quality of the online experience on PC is poor and in my area/timezone (GMT+2) it is very hard to find good games.

Besides there is a very bad bug that forces very low detail settings when playing online so the game also looks like cr*p when playing online.

If these issues were to be addressed on 2K12 it would greatly help.

Also if they let both users adjust their strategy at the same time (in the pause menu)
