I should NEVER go for a pick when I press 'Swat'

That has to be one of the most infuriating gameplay flaws this game has. I willl be on an island and want to make the safe play and swat the ball down only to have my db choose the worst possible catch animation and allow the WR to make the grab.

Even worse. Occasionally the DB will do nothing at all....makes no sense.

I have 2 agree with you 100%, makes no sense. If I press LB, I WANT A SWAT not a pic. If I wanted a pic, I would press that button.

Just press and hold the A button next time instead of pressing the swat button

What am trying to say is instead of pressing the swat button select the defense assist button the cpu will asssit you in swating the ball, they will never go for a pic

man, I NEVER thought of that lol. All those times of trying to strafe just to get in position to make a play on the ball, and I could have been pressing X to have the CPU help me..

IS not that easy if you got a bad player with lacking awr the cpu will take bad routes to the ball the only 2 time i recommend it is when you want to do a good wrap up tackle as you hold left trigger or the strafe button for ps3 players make sure you squared up and in good position for a tackle then hold A it will wrap him no need to hitstick on every play, And other is when you in position to swat the the ball hold A and bingo the cpu never miss

No, I meant on the long bombs when the only player that can make a play is the safety or corner that is all alone with the receiver. When you press swat, the defender will just do some stupid animation and let the WR catch the ball...Or you press interception, and your defender kinda just throws his hands up in the air for a quick second and that happens like 2 seconds before the ball even gets there because you are trying to account for the lag lol.
