#17 Mississippi State vs #22 Auburn - 9/10/11

Heh it's time. I have two worries going into this game.

MSU's defense looked bad at the LB level last week. Anything that got by the Line was instantly in the secondary, because the new linebackers haven't figured it out yet. State also didn't look very good against the Read Option, which is a very bad thing when facing Auburn and their stable.

Auburn got embarrassed last week. Yes they are young, yes they are inexperienced, but they were embarrassed. I never like to see one of my teams roll into somebody else's house a week after they played a completely horrible game. Sure Auburn could play the same level they played last week and get hammered, but they could also play a level above where they should because of the extra motivation and pull off a crazy win.

All that said I still like State by 10, but overall I just want to see a win and stay healthy since LSU is the following Thursday (talk about getting screwed).

I don't feel comfortable picking us to win this game.

We left so much to be desired, after last weeks game. I'm done playing the 'inexperienced card' that keeps getting laid down. It's a tired argument, even if it's true. It's time to suit up and play ball and grow and get better as a team. I'm looking for us to play better football, but I'm not sure a week is enough time to make enough improvements to get us past Mississippi State. If you asked me to pick a winner, of course I'd pick Auburn.. it's the homer deep down in me, but I wouldn't do it with the most confidence. It should be a fairly close game, and I expect our offense to be much more effective. I'm mostly concerned about our defense. We allowed ourselves to be manhandled on the defensive line against Utah State and MSU is going to look to run the ball on us and should be able to fairly easily.

Again, I feel very uneasy about this game, but I'm hopeful that we can find a way to sneak out a win in a game most will pick us to lose, based on our performance against Utah State, combined with the fact that MSU should be much improved from last year.

Auburn's not a top 25 squad, but Mississippi State is you know, Mississippi State.

Miss State will take this game. They have a very good running game and should be able to out score Auburn.

LOL, yeah that's about how I feel. I'll have a better feeling about what Auburn can do after this week. Defensively they were just confused on Saturday, hopefully they'll have that figured out this week. And hopefully the fans will stay in their seats this week and respect their home team that brought them a championship last year.

If Relf is able to hit the broad side of a barn(no pun intended) in the passing game, I think MSU beats Auburn.......although, its still MSU.

MSU usually has one decent win per year, I'm sure it will be against Auburn this year.

No offense, but I'm hoping that one decent win is LSU, I'm smart enough to admit though that Auburn is a good win for this program. I don't think they've beat Auburn yet in the Mullen era.
