Why doesn't does this game get more love?

I understand it's not even close to being better than MLB The Show but it's still a pretty damn good game, in my opinion it's a top 5 sports game on the 360 right now behind NBA 2k, FIFA, and NHL.

I'm also very excited for MLB 2K12.

By whose standards? 2K11 is the first baseball game I bought in three years. Gave up on The Show back when it became clear the developers have no plans to make the necessary programming and coding changes the series seriously needs, until next gen I suppose their plan is. 2K is trying new things. I don't like all of it, but they're doing some things right for sure. It's a fun game, bottomline.

Ha-ha! Speaking of which, why doesn't PES get the same love? Because people think that because FIFA looks better and the player movement is more realistic, everyone assumes it's the better game. Just like 2K11, appearances are deceiving.

PES was great up until our current gen I think, with PES 6 being the best football game I've played. It just doesn't cut it now unfortunately for me. MLB 2K11 is great fun, I've really enjoyed it. Obviously not as good as The Show, but still a good game IMO.

Sorry man, gotta disagree. The Show and FIFA and EA's NHL series all suffer from the same issues: canned gameplay. And they cover up the canned game coding and programming with pretty graphics and animations; everyone thinks "Wow!" and that's that. Few gamers these days care about the nuts and bolts of what makes the game tick from a game coding perspective. If it's nice to look at and has great online gameplay and options, that's what sells. 2K on the other hand has always pushed the gameplay envelope. Their NHL series, from a game coding and programming POV, is as vastly superior to EA's offering as their NFL2K series was and still is to Madden.

Two problems with 2K's games are they're never finished, and they're usually broken on some level. MLB 2K11 is probably 2K's first next-gen baseball game that is more "not broken" than broken, that's the one reason I even bought it. But looking back on this series for example: 2K developed a pitcher/hitter interface 3-4 years ago that is vastly superior to anything that's ever been seen in a baseball video game before or since. The free-ball physics and hit variety in their zone hitting engine, combined with their step-influence feature, was an unbelievable bit of game programming. But nobody played the game because it was broken. Plus the hitting was so realistic, it was actually too tough for today's young gaming crowd. The developers even stated last year they simplied the hitting in 2K11 (which seriously hurts the game) to appeal to "pick-up-and-play gamers," their words.

This is the funnest baseball game I've played since MVP 05, and then LaRussa Baseball (yeah, YEARS ago). I really enjoy it, and after getting sliders that I absolutely love, this game is on my keeper list (for some time). I do not own a ps3 so I have never seen The Show, but the presentation and gameplay are immensely fun. (And trust me, I've been a strong critic of 2k baseball for some time, but this year they truly won me over)...

It really needs independent controls for offense/defense/pitching..... then I'll give it more love.

There isn't going to be one. Thought that was apparent to the public even before MLB 2K11 was released....
