is it me or is the Passing game weird

This is my first Madden purchase since 08, and I had Madden 08 for not even 2 weeks before it was traded in for COD4. I been playing NFL 2K5 since then and now I finally decided to get Madden 12 because I heard about the Franchise mode, and now I am loving it.

However... Passing in this game is way different than NFL 2K5. On a comeback route, when I throw the ball, the ball goes to where ever the receiver is. In NFL 2K5, when I throw a comeback route, the ball goes to where the route ends and the ball will be there by the time the receiver turns around to catch it.

I try doing the same play in Madden, but the ball always goes to where the WR is and not to where he is going to end up- am I doing something wrong?

I know what you are talking about.

Just make sure to wait until they get to where they are about to make their cut. If you throw too soon before the cut the throw will go directly to them rather than where they are supposed to go.

Is there a similar passing control like NFL 2K5's "Maximum Passing" in Madden?

You can lead the pass, throw it high/low with the left stick somewhat.

This is true because sometimes I mess up and point the left stick too wide and I miss the hell out of the WR throwing a ball out of bounds.. Haha! Mastering the placement of the ball with the left stick and timing the route you can place the ball right on the money as soon as he breaks out his cut.. This takes practice though if your not good at direction throwing with the left stick..

You can lead yes, but if you do it before the cut, you will be leading him on whatever path he is currently on, not the one he is supposed to take.

i get 90% of my passes tipped/blocked and they never make it to the receiver. if i try lobbing it, he will have 4 DBs on him before the ball gets there.
