the little things thread (demo edition)

... wildly successful in other forums, heres the demo edition of those things that make us smile! hell it breaks the monotony of the bash threads as well..

my contribution- deking side to side, sedin loses his balance falling against chara and losing control of the puck.... also gabe landeskog getting checked in front of the net, only to swat wildly at the loose puck just off to the right of him! awesome

Players guiding one timers into the net instead of shooting them when they are in close.

Players going to one knee to fire off a hard one timer.

The puck bouncing unpredictably and rolling on edge.

The bench reacting to what's going on on the ice.

Re: the little things thread (demo edition)

In the NHL12 demo I was speeding up the left side of the ice with an opposing forward behind me trying to block the passing lane from my zone. I asked for a pass and my D-man (Kaberle) sent out an awesome pass, banking it off the boards to get the puck past the defending forward and straight to me.

In NHL11, when playing position locked, if you asked for a pass it was usually straight at you, no matter who or what was in between you and the passer.

I was absolutely giddy to see that happen and glad that they addressed one of my biggest gripes with NHL11

Really enjoy seeing players that are throwing a check occasionally lose their balance as well in addition to the player receiving the check

Also, the score overlay showing the shooters for each team before the shootout

Here's the littlest of things......

Anytime the camera zooms in on a player, the stitching on the uniform is visible; ala The Show... looks incredible.

Also, had a helmet come off while fighting for position in front of the net. While not a normal occurrence IRL, nice to see.

The skating is awesome. The strides look better and more geared towards the true visual of a hockey stride.

Front of the net battles. I love engaging in these and I am just learning how it works.

You can play hockey. There is tons of open ice to go to, to support the puck. Your teammates are smart enough to move the puck on their own and you can get into an open ice position.

Snap shots that have velocity.
