Smile Played In Madden 12 Tourney At Fox 'n Hound...

Of course, I won (all I got was a $100 Gift Card redeemable at the restaurant)...I must say that the retail version was much smoother than the demo.

Hold on...let me explain how I was able to play before people start assuming I'm lying (some of you guys are so cynical). Basically, Fox 'n Hound, a national chain, somehow hooked up with EA and received retail PS3 copies of the game. I tried to offer the GM $100 bucks to let me take it home (I know him personally), and he said that EA fines him $1000 if the copy isn't returned by September 6th. The tournament is a way for the bar to promote themselves, and for people to get a sneak hands on preview of the game (I assume).

I used the Eagles (pre CBA rosters, so I didn't feel guilty). As you all probably assume, Vick was awesome. However, it didn't feel cheesy at all using him in the scrambling game. It actually felt like he was only effective during plays that broke down. Another cool thing I noticed, is that the "bail out" throws were non-existent. Bail out throws are those cheesy throw on the run plays, that seem to kill the idea of physics. Even when on the run, I had to be in good position to throw a good ball. There were some great animations that required me to gather my feet before the release. I loved that. The long ball was also much more effective than the demo to me. I could go on, but just know that the final build felt much smoother and realistic than the demo.

This is without a doubt the best next-gen Madden to date. I played in 4 games with 2 minute qtrs (they let us do 5 min in the final round). I had enough gameplay to really make an opinion. The game is rock solid fellas. I can't wait until Friday night.

If there are any questions, I'll try my best to answer them. Keep in mind, I'm not a professional reviewer. Lol, you guys can be brutal! We played on a huge projection screen, with no audio. It wasn't even in HD to be honest. So I probably only had 70% of the experience. But gameplay was definitely on point!

congrats on the win. i think the biggiest thing i learned from this was that i didnt know fox and hound was a national chain. but in the game did you notice if WRs actually made plays on the bal? instead of just jumping straight into the air, or standing there

I saw a few really sweet catch animations (especially the back of the end zone, and sideline). I saw maybe 2 or 3 plays where receivers laid out on posts and quick slants...very nice looking. Can't say I saw enough to warrant calling it a huge improvement over previous years.

To me, the demo seemed like running plays broke down way too fast, especially on All Madden. We played the tourney on All Madden, and seeing the holes open up were like heaven! I played a guy using the Titans in the finals. C.J is definitely a beast, and this guy knew how to use him. The whole thing was knowing when to accelerate, and using ur RB's attributes to ur advantage. The running game was sweet...like really sweet.

Thanks for the info! Just one more, did you notice the warping/sliding of defensive backs? Like when they are out of position on a throw and slide into place to make a tip/interception? Really just player sliding in general.
