Does anyone else wish that home teams still wore their white jerseys? After years I'm still not used to seeing the Hawks wear red jerseys at home. And what's worse, if you're a season ticket holder you basically see the same colors every single game. Red home jerseys and white away (with different colors here and there). What was really nice was when the white team wore white and then you really got to see the different uniforms of the NHL. While every teams white jerseys are no doubt different, their colored jersey provide a much wider range of colors, assortments, and designs.

I'm of the thought that, if you have whites, then the white should always be home jersey. In every sport.

Yea, I miss it in hockey.

I like the way football handles it but I understand why it isn't as realistic for the other sports.

That's how college hockey does it, and I wish the NHL did it too.

Nice to see the colors of the visiting teams!

Even if it is that god awful red, or green

I agree, it was nice seeing the dark jerseys at first, but now let's get back to white jerseys for home games.

Going to the Pens games 30 times a year and seeing all road teams in white just stinks.

Maybe the NHL can switch it up say every 5 years or so?

The NHL has never been really consistent with this policy. A huge chunk of history saw the home team wearing their dark unis then for about oh, 30ish years the home team wore white. I'm not sure if this dark uniform thing is "traditional" or what but I agree with you that a 5 year variation would be a good idea.

I hated it at first, but I've gotten used to seeing the Wings in red at the Joe. To the point where it'd be weird to go back to the whites now.

Why not make it the home teams choice of what they want to wear, and the opposing team can't wear that color, like the way College Football does it.
