So does everyone just live with the stutters?

Did some looking around about the game stuttering when the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher. For me it only seems to happen in RTTS mode. Sadly, that is the mode I play exclusively. And it happens every pitch whether I am batting, baserunning, fielding, or pitching.

Tried the database rebuilding, which did nothing. Tried removing the game and playing without downloading the patch, that didn't do anything either.

So is there anything I can do to fix this or do I just live with the new 'feature'?

Maybe I just am not picky enough to notice it myself, but I don't think I've ever had "stuttering" problem. What I've seen is that when using some pitchers (for me it was Chad Billingsley of LAD, SCEA default roster) the catcher always pounds his glove before returning the ball to the pitchers.

I think it was tied to the pitcher delivery, so if this is the same thing you are talking about, you might want to change your pitcher delivery and see if you see the same thing.

Edit: Okay I'm obviously talking about a different thing... But if it's the disk/disc access that causes the hiccups, then it's possible your disk/disc is getting bad for smooth reading/writing...

I've only ever gotten in-game stutter right after swinging at times in RTTS, which doesn't affect gameplay. Also, the stutter at the main menu.

No, the catcher does sometimes double pump but that isn't what I'm talking about. What I see is a skip or hesitation in the middle of the catchers throw back to the pitcher. Don't see a skip any other time, but I see it every time the catcher throws the ball back.

I got the game two days ago new, so it isn't a scratched or dirty disk. It is either my ps3 or a bug in the game. Since I see many other people commenting on the issue I have I'm thinking it is a problem with the game. And since I never found anyone saying the problem was fixed I'm guessing Sony is calling it a feature now.

so you did apply the patch correct? just making sure since you say it's new...

One thing you could try although it doesn't really solve the problem, is to play with the fast play presentation mode. That way you can skip that part of animation for the most part. At least I would try that to see what happens...

Is there a way to apply it incorrectly? I go to start the game and it says the newest version is 1.16, it downloads and installs it. I don't DO anything. Nothing for me to screw up.

As long as you agree to download the patch it should install automatically. Next time you start the game it should be an update version.

Every so often (every 2-3 days) my game stutters during pitch delivery, and I've rebuilt more times than Bob the Builder, but to no avail. I just ignore it though, usually it doesn't affect game play,
