Analog hitting conundrum - Cannot find a good balance

I have an issue with getting a right balance with analog hitting. Had no trouble last year with button hitting. I refuse to go back to buttons however as I love the feel of the analog controls.

My issue: I cannot seem to pick up the ball or hit at all on all-star. Seems even when i make superb contact 9/10 times its an out. Seems way unbalanced. The number of times you make perfect contact and get out is really exaggerated in this game. I know it happens in real baseball, and i expect it, but I often have 10 + a game, and it seems with runners on base its even worse (Along with AI diving plays with runners on base).

When going to Veteran, Its the opposite, I have 10 HR's in 8 games on vet with bautista, and its too easy and my stats are way too unrealistic with guys hitting .400 , etc..... Anyone else have this isssue?

Did they change pitch speed? I could pick up pitches last year, this year on all-star i have issues. I also find the pitchers throw an unrealistic number of strikes, right on the corners. I did some tests and the number of times I went down 0-2 by taking the first 2 pitches, even to scrubs, with pitches on the black was a bit too much compared to real baseball.

Does anyone else find this? I just find the hitting a bit unbalanced, and pitchers throw too many strikes this year especially on the corners.

Im struggling this year i guess for a balance, never had this issue with 10 at all.

Don't bump your threads.

If you use the search function, you will find many discussion threads on Hitting, User pitching, AI pitching, etc... that may help you.

Thanks

Re: Analog hitting conundrum - Cannot find a good balance

There was some discussion about the timing window and All-Star difficulty with Analog hitting after the last patch. I know that things definitely felt different and like you said, Veteran was a bit too easy, so I ended up abandoning the mechanic all together and moved to Timing.

If you read through the Patch 1.16 impressions, the last few pages, you'll find some discussion about this topic.

Ah, thanks, Ill check it out. too bad as IMO analog is great, it just seems the timing or something is off on all-star.

Yeah, I just got too frustrated with it. I still may use it for RTTS, but for Franchise, I wouldn't last with all the aggrevation.

Re: Analog hitting conundrum - Cannot find a good balance

I have not found this.

I've been playing on HOF all year, and I've been able to put up some very good numbers in my franchise. Analog hitting (and pitching..) feels great to me.
