Anyone win the Heisman Trophy?

The voting is broken, but I didn't know HOW broken until I finished up this year.

I'm the OC for Central Michigan in the MAC. My HB is solid, but not great, however it is the MAC and I need to roll with someone so he starts collecting the stats.

Finishes the season with 2000+ yards, 21 TDs, 43 catches, 400+ yards, 4 TDs
Ranked First in Yards and TDs for all RBs

After about 4 weeks I showed up on the Heisman list. For about 6 weeks I led the Heisman and was #1 going into the conference championships. Got Near 200 and 2 TDs in the champ game... and I finished outside the top 5 for the Heisman.

I was #1 going in, had 200 and 2 tds, and don't finish in the top 5?!?!

Anyone win the Heisman and just what do you have to do?

As Western Michigan I got 2nd in the Heisman voting with my HB. 28 TDs, 3 KR TDs, 1900 Yards, 5 Rec TDs (I also broke the single game rushing record against Central Michigan)

I won it with Shawne Alston at WVU in my first year. I had similar stats to your hb but against an A+ schedule.

What schedule strength did you have? My guess is the caliber of opponents plays a large part as it should.

Yes, schedule probably is part of it, but I went from #1 to not even in the top 5? Sheesh.

I never won a Heisman in 11, played NUMEROUS seasons with WI but every time they would go into the Conf Champ week and the big ten didn't have a game, and I'd lose the Heisman.

It's not broken. Just because you put up gawdy numbers doesn't mean your player is entitled to the Heisman trophy. Look at Troy Davis (mid-90's RB from Iowa State). Guy put up huge numbers. Didn't win a Heisman.

I wish people would stop with the knee-jerk reaction and thinking things are broken b/c they don't work out how they would like them to.

Won it as a frosh RB for USC with 28 TD, 2100 yds, and BCS National Champs. Also won the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Daok Walker. Didn't even make first string until fourth game of the season since I was recruited as the third string RB.

Nope, I led the nation in rushing last season and never even made it on to the watch list smh

But as the OP said, who goes from being ranked number 1 to outside the tope 5 after a 200+ yard game in the final?

That might be a small bug, you never know.
