Give us a reason to be excited about lower-ranked teams

There's always some standout athletes and fun offenses that fly under the radar. I remember how fun it was to play as Dwight Dasher for Middle Tennessee. So give us compelling reasons to play as a team from the Sun Belt, MAC, or WAC, or perhaps the cellar dwellers of BCS conferences.

A thread like this could really help, especially this year, as I think more guys than ever are looking to start off as a coordinator of a lower-ranked team.

Houston is going to be a fun passing attack to play with as Case Keenum is back this year! Hawaii will also be a fun passing attack as always playing with the NCAA passing leader last year Bryant Moniz

Re: Give us a reason to be excited about lower-ranked teams

I am looking to run with a bottom of the barrel team so I have done some research into it. I don't know the players names but have noticed:

North Texas: RB # 5 88 OVR
Plus a decent QB

Arkansas St.: good QB, decent RBs & WRs

WKU: Good RB (90 OVR)

ULM: Good QB (and he's only a Sophomore)

That's just off the top of my head, but those are the teams I am considering rolling with.

Arkansas State is returning a lot of talented players on offense. QB Ryan Aplin and receivers Dwayne Frampton, Taylor Stockemer and Allan Muse all are returning starters. The running game is also strong with a 3 man rotation of Derek Lawson, Jermaine Robertson, and Sirgregory Thornton. They also added two top transfers with WR Josh Jarobe and DT Derek Johnson.

The Baylor offense-RG3 has one of the highest ratings in the game

Re: Give us a reason to be excited about lower-ranked teams

Baylor is going to be a popular pick. They're a lower-tier team in a BCS Conference, but they have a dynamic playmaker at QB and a pretty fun playbook. Also, in the new Big 12, you'll play everyone in the conference. Could be fun for someone to try to take on the entire league with a shorthanded squad but with a playmaker at QB.

Also, you're located in Texas. So there's plenty of good recruits waiting if you can get the ball rolling a bit.

Some teams I might take a look at:

Wyoming: Alvester Alexander(RB), and a pretty alright defense for a lower rated team. Plus those yellow jerseys are sweet

Rice: Sam McGuffie and an alright QB

Utah St: RB Turbin.

Tulane: RB Orleans Darkwa and he's just a SO
