Zone Blocking/Blocking schemes?

I think EA should let us hot route offensive linemen like they do with wide recievers. Such as assigning a linemen to block a specific player, this could be expanded to include double teaming on one defensive linemen. They should also put in some zoneblocking plays for the runnign game. Heck you should be able to put a linemen into one of those little yellow circles they use to indicate a zone. We can do it with D linemen why not O linemen?

That's actually an excellent idea, it would improve spread-option blocking too because that's based off zone blocking.

Great idea. But. how would they have enough buttons? Press L1 or R1 to bring up linemen hotroutes?

Re: Zone Blocking/Blocking schemes?

There was something on either here or the madden forum a while ago about being able to call blitzes. I would really like to see that in the game.

My biggest problem with the running game is that there are no reach blocks which makes outside runs kind of weird.

What's funny about this is that in NCAA 11 when it would show a team's offensive scheme, it would often say that their running game is centered around a zone blocking scheme. Even though those plays are basically non-existent in it.

well instead of that button that makes you tell the line to shift left/right etc.,
you could just replace that with blocking assignments since that would give you more control than just shifting the line. Then just make it like how they hot route wrs.

I know when u r shifting between players on offense u eventually go through O-line players. Why not while u r highlighting that lineman u can hit the y to initiate a hot route and voila zone blocking commands appear. Commands like pull out left, pull right, double block towards left, double block towards right.
