Have you ever gone through

an entire dynasty? For example in ncaa 11 I did an online dynasty with some friends. While everyone else chose good programs I wanted a challenge of rebuilding so I went with duke.
I played every single game and recruited all the way to 2033. It was so much fun I felt like Joe Paterno by the end of it. I managed to win only 4 championships but I had so many stories of gamewinning drives, conference championship battles. Not only do I remember the names of some of the best players from championship years and heisman campaigns, but I even remember the names of players that helped mold the program early on and build the foundations of success. I can sit here actually name players that came in and made huge impacts as true freshman as well as people that were buried in the depth chart their first 2 or 3 years only to show up as rs jr and sr to make huge impacts. It was one of the best ncaa football experiences ever.
Can anyone else relate to stuff like that? Whats the farthest you've ever gone?

Re: Have you ever gone through

I think the farthest I've gone is like 10 or 11 seasons, I usually get several years in before madden so I have plenty of draft classes to import, then if I do manage to run through the same number of seasons in madden I'll go back and play some more NCAA to get more draft classes. But 20+ years is nuts!! And on the other note, about you remembering certain players throughout the years, I have always wanted some type of history/archive option in NCAA where you can go back through the years and see each years roster/stats/ratings/awards/results, I know they have coaching career stats, but a complete history archive would be icing on the cake. Although, this would make the game save HUGE and loading times ridiculous.

Re: Have you ever gone through

yea a complete history archive would be so cool haha.
But I completely remember everthing. I remember things like my 1st season i managed to sign my 1st 4star and he was a wr with great speed acc etc. Well going into my 3rd year 2 of my qbs transfered and the last remaining one got a season ending injury. So instead of play the terrible walk on i moved William McClelland(the 4star wr) to qb where i changed my offense to a triple option. We went on to go 8 and 5 that year. Without him we might have taken a step backwards in the rebuilding process. Other than that 1 year at qb McClelland set several program receiving records. One of the cornerstones in Duke Football video game history lol.

My 6th season I signed a wr by the name of Caleb Williams. He was 6'6 and had great speed agility and acceleration. I couldn't figure out why he was only a 3 star. But I gladly took him and his freshman year (my 7th season) it was a mismatch nightmare. I would line him up at tight end and would destroy any and every defense he saw. We went on to win our first national title that year and he finished 5th in the hesiman voting. He might have been the most dominant player in the whole franchise. He rewrote almost all of the national and school receiving records.

I always remember players and stats from most of my dynasties. Then I go to work and tell my friends about my teams and players and they think I'm weird haha. But this year I'm going all out and have created a website to better track the years of my dynasty. Please check it out and feel free to put some input on the message board.

Re: Have you ever gone through

A buddy and I got through all 60 years on one year of the game. I can't remember which edition it was, but it was before '10 and online dynasty. It was largely simmed, but we recruited every week and played head to head games. We logged a lot of hours on that game for sure.

On the other note, I sure wish there was a way to track your coaching history. It would have really been neat to look back at that.

My longest Dynasty is only 5 years, simply because my Dynasty broke and I lost a lot of love for the game. I just could not get back into it.

My longest Franchise in Madden I think was 12 years.

This year, I plan on going ALL the way through. I am going to be very very careful this time.

I feel you man, back-up back-up and then back-up again. Same thing happened to me now I'm paranoid and save at least twice after each game once on the hard disk and a back-up on a memory card.

Re: Have you ever gone through

Just finished year 2038, having built a solid offline dynasty with Auburn.
This is my first console (360) and game so I was completely new to everything -- recruiting, game play, audibles, formation subs, you name it -- so I went a little (too) easy on myself in the beginning but A-A using sliders has been fun.
I know it's a game but I've enjoyed 'coaching' guys through to graduation and remember some of the better ones, including a whole host of Friday Night Lights guys. Just convinced MLB Bertier (from Remember the Titans) to come back for his Sr year.
