Road to Glory Idea - Herbstreit Kickoff Classic

I had a really cool idea for some of you who want to do something wacky for your RTG, involving Teambuilder

Every year, Kirk Hebstreit holds his kickoff classic. It's usually held at two sites each year. This season: Ohio Stadium in Columbus and the new Cowboys stadium in Dallas.

I'm definitely going to have my high school play in the classic against another squad from either Florida or Texas. Haven't decided yet what school. Regardless, it's going to be a 5 star difficulty game. I'm going to whip the school up in Teambuilder and just set that team's home stadium as one of those two venues.

Here's the link in case you're unfamiliar with the games. They're usually on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

That is a pretty cool idea. Do you know if we get 120 teambuilder slots this year. I know you can import 12 to a dynasty but I'm wondering if we can get more just on our console?

I'm not sure how they'd pull that off since it's so rare but it'd be cool if they got it to work. Would you still have that game if your team was bad?

This made me think of another though. They could add something like the Under Armour All-American Game where the top prospects all play in a game together. And then they could even make it possible to select your college during the game.

That would be cool. If you were able to turn your recruit into a 5* and get to play in the UA or the Army All American game.

Fellas, this doesn't have to be implemented by them. It's as simple as making the school yourself or finding a copy from someone else on Teambuilder and then loading it up into your Road to Glory. While I'd tend to agree, this may be a "little thing" that the EA Team could grab onto and add to RTG to add some more depth to this mode. I'm willing to be that the UA or Army All-American games cannot be too far off in the future.

In addition, if you're having issues with finding a power in the country for your RTG squad to play, check this list out from max preps. It's the top 50 high schools from last season.

What if

They let you play the Under Armor All-American Game and based on your HS Performance they set up a time where you can choose the team you play for and then they give you a nice little cut scene with 2 random hats (and the school you choose) and in the cut scene your player chooses the hat of the school he has committed to and based on your performance in the game you can either sim the rest of the game or go back out and play for your team.

It sounds a lot cooler in my head

Re: Road to Glory Idea - Herbstreit Kickoff Classic

No, from what I've seen of the UA All-American game festivities, it would be pretty damn awesome to pick between your top two or three schools at the end of the 3rd Quarter or something. The whole hat deal would be pretty awesome.

::Related to my original post:: I've selected North Allegheny (PA). A powerhouse in Pittsburgh to be my opponent in the Kirk Herbstreit Kickoff Classic.

I am fully aware that lowly Xenia HS would normally stand no chance, but they have a monster senior QB who's ready to come out of nowhere :-)

So the first game of my Road To Glory will be in Ohio Stadium against a perennial power from Pennsylvania
