Starting from different years in Association.

Watching the draft it makes me think about an association, but also all the work I'd have to do to get it set up before starting. I think this could be fixed for 2k12, after the draft they should update the game so that you have the option of using the new rosters with all the rookies and starting your association the next year instead of having to go through the entire last season just to get there. Thoughts?

They do update the rosters.... It's called NBA 2k12...

Why would they update the rosters after the draft??

There's no money in doing that.

No need to be a smart ***, just move along if you don't agree.

I'm merely suggesting another approach to association to make it more enjoyable the same way NHL allows you to start from different points.

I never thought I'd say this, but I thought EA had it partially right in '06 I think it was, where you could start from the draft(I remember my dad drafting Roy over Foye all the time) and you'd start in the off-season instead of at the beginning of the year, if this is what you're saying, then I'm all for that, if not, I'm not quite sure exactly what you're getting at here lol.

OK think about what you're trying to ask. You're wanting the new rosters with draft picks. Again why would 2k do this? Why would they update the roster's w/ draft picks now, for free, when they're gonna do the same thing w/ 2k12 and charge you for it.

Again it's all about money.

Re: Starting from different years in Association.

If they updated the rosters after the draft then there would be no reason to have an NBA 2k11.
Of couse we would love for them to do that so we don't have to pay 60 bucks for the next game.

SMH, if you think the only reason people buy newer games is because of roster updates and not because the GAME is better, than...just SMH. If the only thing 2k is updating from 2k11 to 2k12 is their rosters I'll be sure not to buy the game, but I doubt that's what's going to happen.

I also didn't ask for "new rosters" if you actually read the thread, I asked for a different starting point in Association, I don't know why you're focused on the rosters, I'm talking about using custom rosters and starting the association the next year. Just like how in EA NHL you can start from different points in the summer with different rosters (interestingly enough people still buy the new games...)

Thanks for the little business lesson though...

Look it obvious we're not on the same page here. OK, you want the option of starting @ a different time period in the season, year, whatever. Isn't that what simming is for? Are you wanting 2K to to upload all the rookies to the teams and have all new trades in 2K11? Granted for us it would be great and I love that idea, BUT in 2K's eyes what's the point? 2K isn't going to send out any new rosters w/ rookies and new trades til 2K12. It's just not happening. Never has. I don't recall any sports game updating rosters w/ rookies and new trades right after the season is over. That's what the next game is for.

I agree with your idea, I want to play as the rookies after the draft also. But we're not getting them.... from 2K at least. That's what 2K Share is for.
