How do you hit more line drives over the outfielders head?

It seems like no matter what the outfielders always catch a ball hit out there unless its a home run or hits the ground in front of them. I have never hit a ball over their head that hits the wall or they just cant catch up. and I am at the end of august in my franchise. Does anyone know how to get more of those types of hits.

I actually just had two in the game I just played, so they definitely can happen. In most cases when I see it, it's because the outfield isn't playing deep enough and the ball is smoked the opposite way. You'll probably never see it happen on a pulled ball (at least I haven't).

The other times you'll see it is where there is a large wall (Fenway or Camden Yards for example) where a line drive can hit off the wall that wouldn't be possible for a player to jump and catch.

Keep in mind though, that while the hit variety is about as close to perfect as we have ever seen in a baseball game, it still isn't perfect.

I don't think you can unless it's off the wall, without using custom sliders.
