Because the rankings are based on rankings, and the team ratings are based on the ratings of the players. Two completely separate things guys.

I think EA should introduce a Recruting rating, because going off prestige for recruting doesn't work. Teams like UCLA and Cal, while not doing so great in the win column, bring in excellent recruiting classes year in and year out. Cal's class this year was top 25, but that can never happen in the game because they are a 3* school, same with UCLA, who is now a 2* school.
