Umm Where's the 3d grass?

Am I missing something? I thought the game was supposed to have 3d grass, but I did not see 3d grass at all in the E3 videos. Maybe I'm blind.

Feel free to correct me and delete this thread, but did anyone else notice that the 3d grass looks rather... flat?

The 3D is glass is there when the camera is zoomed in on a player on the ground, or a close up shot. It should look rather flat on overhead shots, because I mean...the grass/turf would look rather unkempt if it wasn't.

3D grass is only noticeable during replays or close ups...during regular play it will look the same as previous Maddens

I am not sure if you will be able to notice the 3D grass as much during real-time play, but you should notice the grass, snow, and water that players kick up.

im pretty sure its something that graphic power is dedicated to only in zooming situations. Otherwise that effort is used elsewhere...

I think what the OP is talking about is that the grass looks nothing like the above screenshot in the gameplay footage we have seen so far. And if the only time the grass looks like that is in cut scenes, then whats the point, what is this 1996 and the sega genesis?

I agree. EA is basically touting this like its new when it was in freaking Madden 08 I believe?
