Blue Jays Franchise Users: Jose Bautista

Hey fellas,

I don't know if it's the sheer pressure of the expectation of this guy to hit consistent bombs or the darn small leg kick he does that throws me off, but I cannot for the life of me get him going with the thunder stick. Is anyone else experiencing this with Jose or is it just me? lol.

I dont use the Jays but I know what you mean. I play with the Rangers and suck with Hamilton and I know why. I get so eager to kill the ball when he's batting that all patience goes out the window. I swing at terrible pitches and get in 0-2 counts constantly with him.

It just shows how much of hitting is mental. I ALWAYS suck with the best player on a team. It's almost like when you don't care about good results is when you get it!

I wonder though if the CPU doesn't pitch a little tougher to the better hitters in the user's team. Hits more edges of the plate and what not. Just a thought.

I was terrible with Hamilton in the demo with the leg kick. Luckily Cabrera doesn't really have one

That small leg kick can definitely throw you off. I don't use the Jays but Posey has that same leg kick and it took me awhile to finally get him going. Going into batting practice and just working on the timing of it helped a lot.

The biggest thing I would say though is make sure you're staying patient when hitting with the big boys. It's not easy to get a pitch to knock out when using guys like Bautista, you need to get into a favorable count. Even when I find myself in 0-2 counts with a guy like A-Rod, it almost always comes back to 3-2, or at least 2-2, and that's when I usually get my pitch. Just stay patient and wait for your pitch.
