Cool Up and Coming Players

It seems that EA doesn't ever know much about the up and coming impact players because of their underclassman status, so this thread is to just let EA know which players will turn some heads in '11. Please note that I don't mean good players, I am solely referring to elite players. So choose one, and make a case for him since he'll probably be vastly underrated in NCAA '12.

Auburn: Trovon Reed (RS FR)
OVR: 91

It's tough not to pick Corey Lemonier, but with the departure of our top three WRs, the world will now be able to feast their eyes on Trovon Reed. This kid redshirted last year but is an absolute beast. He is one of those few players who have God given talents, and will excel at any level of competition. He is a natural play-maker, and contains the ability to turn those quick WR screens into 80 yard touchdowns. He reminds me a lot of A.J. Green.

These are only highlights of his WR play since he played a ton of QB in HS, but his recruiting ratings from the 2010 class: #4 WR (Rivals), #6 WR (ESPN), #7 WR (Scout)

So, in conclusion, please don't give Trovon Reed an 80 overall rating, EA! Even watching that video again proves how unbelievable his cutback ability and vision are. If any of our freshman are going to break out and make a monumental impact, it'll be Trovon. Thanks!

Re: Up and Coming Players

I doubt he'd have a rating near that high OP and, after all, these are suppose to be generic players not associated with their real life counterparts.

I think EA usually just focuses on ratings of starters and established players because most gamers are going to just do play now or online head to head.

But, if I had to choose one, I'd say Driskel on Florida will have an underrated arm. He's got a cannon but he'll probably have some weak arm and other ratings since he's a freshman.

I'm sure he's a quality player, but c'mon man, the dude hasn't played a down of SEC football and you wanna stick him with a 91? Youtube is full of hype videos for highly ranked HS players that fizzled in college. I think EA would be much better off giving him the 80 and then having a (hidden) potential rating that's relatively high.

FWIW, I dunno if EA actually uses potential ratings, but I wish they would.

driskel's ratings won't be too high, im sure. 78-80 overall range. after all, he probably will red-shirt behind all those QB's they have in gainesville. next year title they may have to bump it, if the hype thickens.

They do. I don't know exactly how it's used, but I know it's there and I know it does apply.

91 is too high for Reed. Homer much?

Anyway, Reed is similar to Andre Debose last year. Debose was a very highly touted redshirt FR and he was pretty nonexistent on offense. Had some nice returns. Low 80s for Rees would be generous.
