DL'd players issue

I thought I had seen this posted before, but can't find the thread...

I had 2 players come off the DL at the same time, A hitter said it needed a 5 game rehab stint and a pitcher needed 2 games.

It brought me to manage screen, but I couldn't do anything other than demoting 2 other players to make room.

One player is now actively playing games on the big league sim all while the game considers him on rehab, but the pitcher says he is on the MLB team, but is not on the game roster.

If I try to manage roster by doing call up/send down, for both players it just says they are in rehab stints and can only be released.

I've played 5 games since this, how can they both still be on rehab?

Also, is there a new bug with the patch that players can't come off the DL unless a game is simmed?

Thanks for any help!

Re: DL'd players issue

Darn, I was hoping the patch fixed this issue.

What I do when this happens is the following:

1) Take note of the "stuck" players' contract details.
2) Edit player(s)' contract details down to 1 year and minimum salary.
3) Release the player(s) - this is why you edit the player salaries, so you avoid paying a big fee to release them.
4) Re-sign the player(s) from free agency at whatever cost.
5) Edit player(s)' contract details back to what they were in step 1.

This should allow you to place them in the MLB and they should be usable. It's a shame the patch didn't take care of this.

You can also let the CPU "optimize" your roster and it will fix it automatically, except then you have to go back and change your lineups, call-up send downs, and rotation/bullpen. It might actually be easier to do it the way PittPens described.

No, this is a different bug than the one we're trying to figure out in that thread.

In this bug, players are stuck and unusable after coming off the DL.

In the bug in your thread, players time on the DL simply doesn't decrease after playing a game.

We have so many DL bugs now it's almost not worth it...
