Re: GSP vs Diaz

Yeah hopefully it becomes official.

I haven't been entertained by a GSP bout in a looooong time. This may finally change.

Re: GSP vs Diaz

It won't ex, it will be worse. I believe Diaz has better BJJ than Shields though, and better boxing, but his weak spot has always been wrestling.

My only hope is Diaz actually won't wimp out and not let his hands go. I still agree with earlier comments about Diaz probably going down against the other elite wrestlers in the UFC, but hell Diaz strikes me as the type of guy who will go all out and not shell up.

Not to mention Diaz' cardio is probably on GSP's level.

True, but his problem has always been wrestling. I doubt he can sub him too, but it is possible. If he starts letting his hands fly, he might get taken down easier, thus him possibly being tentative.

Re: GSP vs Diaz

I don't like this...it delay's the possibly exciting future and even may ruin it. I make no bones about it, Diaz has NOTHING for GSP.

If GSP takes another fight at WW it should be against Anthony Johnson. From there he can properly assess what it's like fighting a true middleweight (and maybe a big one at that).

If GSP wants to stay at WW, that's his choice and I wouldn't really blame him with his frame, but even in that case his biggest challenge imo would still be johnson.

Either they setup a 'superfight' just because of the p4p thing and gsp can remain at ww losing a bit of weight afterwards, or if he's moving up make him fight johnson, and either silva right away or a full blown mw fight against a contender like belfor, and so on.

This fight just eats up precious prime-career time
