Officially Done

Well it was fun for awhile I guess but I'm done with FNC...I love this game and hate it at the same time and its starting to torment me...Just played with the new tuner and even though they did some good things they also added some BS which makes me think they'll never get it right...shame too because this could be an awesome game...but i just can't do it to myself anymore...yes they fixed the body spamming but now i see a game where flash knockdowns are abundant...and it was me flashing dudes with my uppercuts rated a 5?...not only that but counters are insane and IMO the punch blocking is weaker...add these things up and to me it feels like im playing Mike Tyson punchout...who knows they might get it right but whoever said in another post that whenever they add a new tuner or patch that its a totally new and different game was 100% right...for the time PS3 was down I erased the patch and had an enjoyable game right out the box...but once you beat legacy and champion mode it gets kinda stale and all your left with is online and with the settings the way they are thats what killed it for me

Re: Officially Done

Yeah ... the lack of knockdowns for me and numerous amount of knockdowns for the computer ruins it for me. I am sick of dominating fights and still losing cause I got knocked on my *** 4 times. It is sad cause I like everything else about it. ( Even though Legacy Mode could be better ) It will go a long way in helping me get NCAA Football when it comes out though.

Re: Officially Done

+1. this is the worst fight night IMO. i liked the last one better. this is a very frustrating game. the computer throws WAY too many punches even with the slider all the way down. the mechanics of this game just done feel as responsive as they should. im not a boxing guy, i just like playing the games, so im not a purist so im not looking for the little things like some are, and this game still falls on its *** for me.

best buy is offering a $30 gift card for trading this in. um yes please.

Re: Officially Done

I have to disagree with your conclusion. Ever since the new tuner I've actually been in more sim fights then before. Trust me I was an advocate of the flaws that this game presented, and I protested them through this site. I don't spam, I don't run, I actually play the game the way its supposed to be played. I honestly feel that the reason you are done with the game is because you are not having any success. But to "Each its own" not everybody is going to be happy, and EA can't please everyone, but I would say that if there was a poll taken the majority would say this game is a great game.

I guess my record at 16-5 is a failure...yup your right....16 wins and 5 losses is horrible...and i guess after this 2ND!!! tuner and a patch they finally got it right according to you and therefore thats all i need...right again...what was i thinking...and as far as a poll goes to say the MAJORITY would say that this is a GREAT game!?...your wro...ooops sorry right again

Actually 16-5 isn't necessarily impressive in OWC if you skip fights against more skilled boxers and take those against less skilled boxers. (e.g. a 91 versus an 85).

That's no knock against you, because I have no idea what fights you have taken or turned down. I'm just saying your record in OWC isn't a true indication of success of failure. Your overall rating is a much better gauge.

I agree with Steelernut. Fights are a lot more sim online than before the last change.

EDIT: But OWC is a different animal than regular head to head (which I play). The disproportionate dimensions of height and reach are ridiculous.

I would also add that given the subject matter, "success" and "failure" can't be measured by wins and losses. Success, IMO and I think possibly the person who made this comment, is defined not by W-L record but by overall enjoyment of the game. Clearly the OP is frustrated with the overall impression of the game regardless of W-L, as am I. As frustrated as I am, I am willing to wait out one more title update, and here's why:

Unless I am mistaken, this is the first version of FN that broke tuners and title updates apart into two components. Whether or not EA should have been aware of the new mechanics of doing updates this way, in my judgement they were not. I think that the overall effect of update 1.01 and tuner 1 should be tempered by this. Tuner 2 seems to address more issues and be more responsive to comments made by players. My hope is that 1.02 will be just as effective and we will finally get the game we should have gotten in March. The dynamics of that are separate issue that I won't bore you with here, but if EA can't get things all but completely right with the 1.02 update and tuner 2, then I fear I may be in the same camp as the OP.
