Coyotes Ready for 2010-2011
Jaromir Jagr is a Coyote
PHOENIX, AZ - The Phoenix Coyotes are entering the 2010-2011 NHL season following their best in franchise history. They clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2001-2002. They reached 100 points for the first time in franchise history. Sadly, they were eliminated by the Red Wings in 7 games in the first round.
GM Don Maloney had a very surprising off season. In the first round he traded Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, Center Martin Hanzal and Winger Lee Stempniak to the Philadelphia Flyers for rookie Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, Center Jeff Carter and Winger Scott Hartnell. Then traded Defensmen Ed Jovanovski to Colorado for John-Michael Liles. He signed Jaromir Jagr, Evgeni Nabokov and Sergei Fedorov.
