Zone Defense Video in Slow Motion

Thoughts? I just felt compelled to upload this. I think some people are obsessing over the animation flaws a bit too much. Sure, there is sliding and warping to an extent, but every NCAA game will have that until they introduce a new engine. I just love the fact that zone will be effective again. I don't necessarily care about the animations, I just want to be able to stop the offense!

Could not have said it any better.

Nice video. have to admit that pass blocking looks a lot better except for the lack of double teams. Hopefully EA continues to work on the passing game though, because zone defense was only one of many things wrong with it.

Wow, watch the LB on the left side @ :28. He literally just glides back as he is shuffling like he's on ice. Also, #40 @ 1:20 moves back about 10 yards without really even moving his legs. Lastly, TCU DB #6 at the end, does the same thing, just super shuffles back without even really moving his legs. That is the worst I've ever seen gliding. Slow motion really brings out the gliding in the game.

I just hope the zone "fix" wasn't achieved by DB's being to able to magically move faster and warp across the field like they are on ice skates.

To me these look more cosmetic though. The players don't seem to be moving at unrealistic speeds, they're just taking far too few steps compared to the ground they cover, so it looks bad. If they were taking the appropriate number of steps and it looked more natural, then I think the speed they were going back was okay, could be a bit slower though.

Yeah the 1:20 mark is UGLY.

That's what I'm thinking. I'd rather have them gliding a bit than being cemented into place and not knowing how to play a zone any day.

Re: Zone Defense Video in Slow Motion

It's not a cosmetic thing.
It's no different the the DB mirror that plagued the game.
Some tried to say it didn't bother them, but most were also in the Slider threads looking for more "Realistic Gameplay".

A LB keeping up with an Off player running forward while in a backpedal is a "Major" problem.
Warping is not a Zone fix, but a Lazy AI bug.

Man, what is going on when gamers have become OK with sliding/gliding in this game?

Have not the community been asking for some type of "Momentum" to be represented in the game?
Well Def players are changing direction on a dime to give the percieved look like they're covering an area.

Will the same be OK when a 68 SPD/72 ACC LB is locking down your 95 SPD/95 ACC WR while he's in his zone?
Don't forget, the vid's also show that the Super Jump 15 yrds over the middle is still in.

I like some of the things they are doing, but giving a pass on things that has continued to hurt the game, I can't do.

I hope they don't release this game with this "Bug" in it!!!
