Your craziest, or most memorable game?

What is your craziest game, or one that you will remember for a long time to come?

Mine would have to be a game I just played last night. I started a new franchise tog et the most up to date rosters. I simmed up to where the real season was and decided to play it. It was the second game of a three game series against the Mets with my Braves. I started off with a 3-0 lead after a 2 run HR by Uggla and another RBI single in the 3rd inning. But the Mets fought back and tied it 3-3. The game ended up going all the way to the 17th inning before I finally lost 8-6. There was 2 outs and I had a runner on 1st with Heyward up to bat. He had hit a HR earlier in an extra inning that made it a tie game to keep the game going, but he couldn't do it again as he struck out swinging on an 0-2 pitch straight down the middle. Most my runs came off HRs. Freddie Freeman hit one for me with 2 outs to tie the game and keep it going which was nice to see from a rookie.

Since I had simmed up to that point my players were fatigued. I only had 2 pitchers in the bullpen I could turn to the enter game. They were Moylan and Kimbrel. Everyone else had 38 energy or less in them. I did end up turning to Venters and O'Flaherty who both had around 35 energy left. They both only threw one inning. I also had pinch hitter David Ross throw an inning or two just because I had no one available really. It was a great game. I hate that I lost it, but it got to the point where I just wanted to get it over with win or loss and thats why I had position players pitching.

It was nice to have players fatigued and actually manage a bullpen wisely. Now that that game is over though, all my players have 100 energy except a few have 92 and some pitchers are in the 60's. I don't know why everyone didn't go back to 100 like they should after a played game, but maybe there is fatigue, it just isn't implemented correctly and very very slowly drains?

Re: Your craziest, or most memorable game?

The no-hitter Venters (injuries moved him from the pen to the roatation) had carried 8 innings. I went from no hits to a bases loaded jam in 5 pitches. Werth hit a Sac fly to tie it at 1 a peice. On the very next pitch, I gave up a 3-run home run to make it 4-1.

I was able to get out of it and in the bottom of the 9th with Hinske (PH)-Prado-McLouth due up. Hinske singled, Prado doubled Hinske home, so we're in business. Then I decided to bunt Prado over, and McLouth actually beat the tag. So, now we're in business with Uggla up to the plate. I got nervous and swung at a sinker that I shouldn't have and GIDP, but the run scored and J-Hey was up. Heyward took the pitcher full, then walked. Then, like an idiot, I tried to steal 2nd. I swear it was the biggest blown call i've seen in the game, but I was called safe. So its a 4-3 game, with a RISP and 2 out for McCann. I got down 0-2 and took defensive swings when I got a hold of one that landed in right center. Then, like and idiot (see a trend here?) I tried to stretch Heyward around 3rd, which did not work out at all.

I went from a no-hitter to down 3 to a game-decided play at the plate.

Re: Your craziest, or most memorable game?

Reds VS Braves in Cincy, Im Cincy, on All Star difficulty.

Down by 3 in the bottom of the 9th with one out, pitcher spot up. I pinch hit with a rookie SS I picked up in the draft. He beats out a throw on a chopper to 3rd. I steal second base on a 1-2 count to Stubbs. Stubby hits a double on a full count and were down by 2. An errant throw by McCann puts Stubbs on third (I fake hit and runs to try and produce errant throws by catchers). Phillips hits another 'close play at first' chopper to third. Stubbs stays put. Another beaten throw. Now Vottos up and he gets walked on a 3-1 count. Bases loaded and Jay Bruce is up. (Im in my second season in franchise and Bruce is rated a 90 overall.) Bruce hits a strong grounder between second and first that has Atlanta's first basemen diving to make a stop. I send Stubbs home while the Braves fail at the double play, only getting Votto out at second, with Bruce safe at first. Now Im down by one with Phillips at third and Bruce at first. Rolens up. Rolen is super cold and I notice that the third basemen is playing extremely deep. Time to play super small ball. I pinch hit with Heisey, who's in his second year and has a speed of 88. On the first breaking ball, with a 2-1 count, I send Bruce to second. I bunt for a hit with Heisey right down the third baseline on the second off speed pitch, tying the game up. Now Im just playing to go into extra innings. So, I swing at the first pitch with Carlos Santana, who I traded for before year one spring training. He sends a walk off blast into the second deck at Great American.

And this one belongs to the Reds as Marty says...

(I also knock the Braves out of the Wild Card race with this win...sorry Brave fans)

The game I won 3-0 but 2K11 reversed the score so it was recorded as a loss for me. Imagine the shock I had looking at the Headlines saying Phillies lost 3-0 to Pirates when I won that that game 3-0!

Seems like the Braves like to play close games in this.

Playing as the Orioles - All Star Default Sliders -

Playing at Cleveland I was down 10-3 going into the top of the 8th. I put up 4 to bring it to 10-7. Bring in my closer to pitch the bottom of the 8th and head into the 9th down three. End up with the bases loaded with 2 outs and Derek Lee at bat. I hit a deep fly ball to right center...and freaking Grady Sizemore takes away the game-winning Grand Slam jumping up the wall.

The wife was pissed at me cause I yelled and woke up our 11 week old son.

Re: Your craziest, or most memorable game?

One night I was at my best friend's home playing him head-to-head. He introduced me to this game several years ago and has always dominated when it comes to hitting the long ball. This particular night we played three games. We always randomly select our teams, so neither of us has a total grasp of the nuances of the team we are using. We also use "break point pitching" to simulate the way real major leaguers have to throw and drop the "pitch control" slider from 50 down to 30, which makes pitching extremely challenging, especially if you like painting the corners of the plate.

In our second game, he was the home team, using the Milwaukee Brewers. I was the visitor, using the Dodgers. Initially, it looked as though he would routinely shut me down, as he easily retired the first two batters in the first inning. With the third batter in the line-up I was able to single to center. Up came Matt Kemp and it was like a switch was turned on. Kemp homered to deep left center and the rout was on.

Over the next 8 innings, I pounded out 14 hits, homered five more times, most of which were absolute bombs (two more with Kemp), for a total of 6 for the game. Hitting the homers was fun, but the real fun was hearing the gasp emitted by the crowd each time I launched another bomb. The conclusion of the game saw my stat line read 14 runs on 16 hits, while holding him to a couple of runs. I don't think I had ever hit more than two homers in a head-to-head game prior to that point. I was in an incredible zone which I had never experienced before or since that game. On the other hand, my friend described it as "one to forget".
