EA or 2k?

Im looking to maybe buy an NHL game. Now i dont follow the NHL very much just a little. I have a ps3. Can anyone recommend a good solid playing NHL game with a good association mode? Doesn't have to b a brand new game. but id like to have Crosby in the game

Well if it's Dynasty or Franchise mode you mean by "Association Mode", then I would go with EA. While there are some things that annoy the diehards about the Dynasty mode in NHL 11, it's nothing that should bother casuals like yourself. It's deeper than 2K's and 2K10 for the PS3 isn't the version I would recommend anyways, due to lack of a proper patch for its numerous issues.

thanks i appreciate the input. and ive done several associations before but only on madden games and nba 2k games unless you wanna count the one from nba live 2001... eons ago. Again thanks for the input ill look into it. I know this aint the right board for this but how about a MLB game? for merely franchise mode.again year doesnt matter as i dont follow baseball at all

If you have a PS3, definitely go with SCEA's The Show, if you have a 360, you only have one option and that is 2k.

Re: EA or 2k?

here is my suggestion on the matter.

since you seem like your just a casual sports gamer, i would recomend a few options..

instead of going with a brand new game (since you said it doesnt have to be one), maybe do this..

NHL 10 (PS3) Like New $9 to $13
http://product.half.ebay.com/NHL-10-...239057&tg=info

NHL 2K10 (PS3) Like New $11 to $15 (the Very Good has a few for $9)
http://product.half.ebay.com/NHL-2K1...699973&tg=info

you could get BOTH games for basically say $25 combined.. NHL 10 for me is better than NHL 11 (again, to me). NHL 2K10 on the PS3 was not supported post release by 2K, so it has issues, BUT, still a great game to play.

now, if you wanted say the new NHL 11.. (best price $35)
http://product.half.ebay.com/NHL-11-...827436&tg=info

so then, you could get NHL 11 and NHL 2K10 for say a combined $50. thats still a great deal!!

but since you mentioned you dont care about it being a new game, i would snag both NHl 10 and NHL 2K10 for the $25 combined!!

now, on to baseball.. while MLB The Show 11 is a GREAT game.. the basic improvments that were made were analog controls. so again, for a casual gamer, check out MLB The Show 10..

MLB The Show 10 Like New $11 to $15
http://product.half.ebay.com/MLB-10-...187003&tg=info

you could have NHL 10, NHL 2K10, and MLB The Show 10 for basically $40 plus shipping.

for a casual gamer IMO you cant go wrong with getting all 3 games used from last year. for the like new games, you will get the case, manual, disk, etc.. just like you bought them in a store!!

hope that helps ya out a bit... let us know what you do!!
