OS Golf League - Week ONE - Augusta Par 3 Event

hello!

welcome to our practice event...

and in honor of tomorrow's Par 3 Contest at the Masters (televised on ESPN tomorrow at 3pm), we will be running our own little par 3 tourney...

we'll let this serve as a practice event to see who is truly interested in league play....

So, how do you play?

from the main menu, choose QUICK PLAY...

then select PLAY NOW...

make sure it's stroke play, and your name is listed as a golfer, then go to COURSES and select AUGUSTA PAR 3 (this is right next to Augusta National, one left arrow over!)

go to COURSE OPTIONS and make sure these are selected:

Weather: sunny
Wind: calm
tee: masters
hole: first nine
flagstick: thursday
tourn atmosphere: on
course cond: average
second cut : medium (this will be greyed out)
mulligans: off
pro challenge: off

once you have verified these settings, go to PLAY NOW...

as far as difficulty, i have mine set on Tournament, but if you want to play TOUR PRO, that's ok with me... I know the putting on tournament difficulty has some people freaking out, and not really enjoying the game... so, you choose!

Remember, though, ONLY ONE ATTEMPT for this league play. we use the honor system, so play your game, and post your score here!

1- 3 (GIR, then nasty putt. 2-putted for the par)
2- 2 (GIR, 4-footer for bird!)
3- 3 (off the edge of green, ugly chip, saved par w/9 footer)
4- 3 (GIR, missed 13 footer by inches, tap in par)
5- 3 (GIR, nasty downhill 19 footer, 4-footer for par)
6- 4 (over green, then sloppy pitch, missed 10 foot par)
7- 2 (caddie doesnt suggest! i hit a close approach SW, nail the 3 footer!)
8- 3 (GIR, just missed 16 footer, tap in par)
9- 2 (GIR, 15 foot nasty downhill... and i hit it! for my "50th birdie" too!!!)

score: 25
GIR: 7
PPG: 1.56

fun round... now go beat me!

Re: OS Golf League - Week ONE - Augusta Par 3 Event

Funny b/c I played a stroke simultaneous earlier today online w/ the Par 3 course. What difficulty did you use? I'm thinking there should at least be some sort of differentiation for those that use Tour Pro as opposed to tourney difficulty.

I shot +7 on tourney BTW. But hopefully I'll do a bit better tomorrow when I get my 'official' round in.

i've only played tournament difficulty... i was used to TRU AIM on Tour Pro difficulty last year, so i don't think the transition has been super difficult...

Re: OS Golf League - Week ONE - Augusta Par 3 Event

First time on Tournament settings and I ended shooting +3 for the par 3 course. I didnt know you couldnt spin or move the ball in flight so that hampered me but will have to practice that mode for a bit.
Will have to evaluate my entering the tournament hear till my golfer and i get more experienced. I was just starting to shoot under par on pro settings...lol

Let see what happens.

Anyone on 360 want to play a round with me online? No mic or anything just think it'd be fun to go around the course with somebody. If nobody replies in the next 10 minutes I'll just go out by myself.

Sounds great guys. I will be throwing down on Tour Pro. We are playing with our own My player is still only 60-50-40-60 or something like that right now. We will see how I do!

Will try to play in the next 10 minutes or so. Ps3.

We could have a tour pro division and a tournament division?

Re: OS Golf League - Week ONE - Augusta Par 3 Event

I played on TOUR PRO, but I can redo if that's required and I'll try it on Tournament.

What a difference the "easier" conditions made for me - with the pins on Thursday and the course condition at average.

I am not good at this yet, but I just shot the best round I've ever had.

Gamertag is Xcommish
Current golfer level is 1; Power 57, Accuracy 55, Control 39, Putting 51

Shot -4
Birdied the first 3, including a 36 footer on #1 and I chipped in on #3
Parred 4-8
Birdied 9

I posted as a gamernet challenge under:
goalie practice rd OS

Let me know if this is Tourney difficulty only and I'll retry
